Outlast?  Any good?  Reckon that it could be magic on the headphones in the dark...

It's easily the best horror game currently available on the Switch. It's kind of terrifying for the first hour or so but after a while it's more 'boo!' ghost house stuff than genuinely scary. It's good though, and the bundled DLC is particularly memorable.

Dunno how good the port is but it's 4-5 years old at this point, I'd be amazed if they couldn't get it to run well on the Switch.

Just been looking at videos of Outlastand I can't actually tell how it plays, all the videos are just of creepy corridors, what's the gameplay like? Is there weapons and stuff or do you just walk about?

No weapons it's all stealth, running and hiding. It can be really tense though and I remember it having a great atmosphere. Some of the scenes in the whistleblower dlc were particularly gruesome..

I've currently got the official nintendo switch case which I'm lashing in my backpack at the moment. I'm kind of concerned that it might not be as protective as I'd like as I also have a heavy Thinkpad and other items in the same pocket. Is anyone using a super protective case? ie pretty much indestructible. I have a constant level of anxiety about taking it out with me at the moment.

The official Nintendo ones are a bit shit. I've been using mine for occasional travel since launch and it's all worn in where the trigger extrusions are. I have no idea what it'd be like if I was commuting every day.

I use the Hori semi-hardcase thing, which I don’t worry about throwing in a bag with my work laptop, but that’s a slimline HP rather than a big old corporate paving slab.

Good case, though, compact and tough. My only complaint is that when you tuck game cards in the elastic pockets, he the only bit of the label that’s visible is the red Nintendo Switch band that’s the same on every card, so you end up having to slide each one half-out to see if it’s the game you’re looking for.

Yeah, that Hori tough case is proper beastly, affordable, and in addition to the game card elastic pockets it also has a strap for slotting in the Joycon grips. That's all on the upper side of a protective foamy flap that covers the screen when zipped up. Does the job. Would recommend.
