Nintendo Switch

I'm a massive gyro aiming fan and wish this was the standard for all fps's or any game that requires aiming.  I love that gyro aiming has been added and was tempted to get it for my Switch but not at £50 on the eshop.  I'll stick with the Steam version which I used gyro aiming already for with the Steam controller*.  I don't take my Switch out of the house except for holidays so portability is not high on my list of needs.

*Until payday as I love Doom

Just tried doom on the big telly with the motion control. Fucking transformational. This is the gold standard for console FPS controls without a doubt.

Agreed. Almost tempted to put away my PS4 now. It’s been gathering dust ever since the switch came out, only to be booted for the odd blast on Doom.

Wait, people actually like gyro controls? The first thing I did in Splatoon was disable it.

Sony tried to shoehorn the same thing into early PS3 titles and it wasn't well received, strange it's popular now Nintendo copied the same mechanism.

Its regualr twin stick with gyro for fine adjustments... works brilliantly

Gyro in Splatoon works perfectly in conjunction with the sticks. It refines the movement on them, and doesn’t replace.

Sony did gyro stuff with some Vita games like Killzone Mecenary and it was pretty well received, but I recall the early PS3 implementations of it being mostly dire.

Oddly, I get on really with it well in Splatoon but never got the knack of it in Zelda. Not sure why.

It's popular when it's done right and enhances control. Not when it's done badly. Simples really.

And are you really inferring that Sony were first with motion control? Erm...

I have it on X1, but never play it because, you know, I have a Switch. Will pick this up when I can find time.

Still working my way through Steamworld Dig 2, Skyrim, Zelda (still have two more shrines to find + DLC), Odyssey and I have an unopened copy of Bayonetta to work through for the third time on as many consoles.

Switch is the tits.
