Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is supposedly coming to the Switch, the game is real but the existence of the Switch version has not been independently verified yet. Be interesting to see how much demand there is for it this time around on a Nintendo system.

COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.

It's £39.60 / R669.

How funny! Thank you!

Maybe I should be buying eShop credit here instead!

Edited to add:

So what’s the justification for this then?  Why do Nintendo charge us in the UK over the odds compared to a physical release, where in other countries the physical releases are comparable prices but they actually charge less for downloadable?

I'd have thought it's down to the market size / retailers ability to negotiate discounts / retailer competition and potentially lower profit margins?

What's South Africa like in terms of games retail total sales, compared to UK?  Are the physical games produced specifically for SA, or are they imported by the retailers, meaning there is additional cost with that too?

How much does the hardware cost in SA by comparison?

Well interestingly games like Just Dance and Rayman seem to cost more digitally here than physically back home, to flip things a bit.

The Switch itself is more expensive though at ~£330.  People don’t play games as much here, lots more outdoorsy people coz of the better weather.

All pretty interesting...

I realise not everyone plays exclusively in handheld mode and given the likelihood of my buying COD is practically zero, this won't affect me but adding motion controls to the only version of the game that can be played portably seems like a bullet straight to the foot (in the boot, on the ground).

Surely the motion controls can be disabled though, I imagine the best use is playing with two joy con whilst docked which could be pretty good for people that like that control method.

I've had my Switch a while now and have to be honest I've neglected it a little, having Zelda on Wii U. Hammered Mario and dabbled with Splatoon 2 but zilch else. Anyway I've just plumped for Enter the Gungeon and Sky Force Reloaded (enjoy Anniversary on Vita) did I do good or did I buy shite? Any recommendations for some undocked arcade action.

Gungeon should scratch that arcade itch for a while.

Such a good "in between" game.

Gungeon is brilliant. I also bought SFR and only played an hour or two so far. I quite like it but not sure I'm totally on board with the shmup+grind idea. Interested to see hear what you think.
