The community bends to my will, not the other way around! :quote:

It does seem like this could explain why so many people think the pro controller is an ‘essential’, if we’ve somehow reared a forum of gripless freaks.

Paladins just leaked, too, via an eShop update. I don't even know what it is but it's something I've seen people going on about for a few years. Day one for me!

It's not good.

OK, well, much to my surprise, using the wrist strap attachments has resolved my connectivity issues. Do they act as additional antennae or something? Anyway, problem solved, it would seem.

It’s a fine F2P alternative to Overwatch. There’s much, much worse games out there.

Such as Overwatch*

As a F2P it's not too bad, but quickly got bored of Paladins on Xbox. Sure I'll give a go at least on Switch.

*I kid obviously.

Mine got tidied somewhere and I don't know where they are. It's a good job that the joycons actually stick to the switch or they'd get tidied away too.

What's a good price to ask for my Switch + Zelda in trading? I want a quick sale but refuse to sell it to the robbers in Cex.

Is this because of what Zok said about people using joy cons without the grips?

I think he was just kidding.

Naked joycons all the way! Interesting about the signal being better with the attachments, though. Could be that gripping them tightly attenuates the signal, and the extra breathing space provided by the pointless bumpers reduces this issue.

I seem to recall Apple’s solution for the iPhone Death Grip was to give people a free, non-conductive case.

I'm seeing a massive interest in the Switch in the pogo community in brum, it's likely to be the same all over the world.

I said it here first, Switch is going to sell gangbusters when Let's Go comes out.

Anybody else started playing Pokemon Go in anticipation of Let's Go? I live in the only part of the UK with 0 phone signal so I can occasionally catch one in my living room

I'm tempted to get my Daughter a Switch for Christmas, with the other Pokemon that I don't get, she'll be 9 so I think she's about ready to start gaming properly

Totally preordered my pokeball controller. I don’t even have the switch yet (arriving today).

What are the top 10 must haves from the estore? (Assume I’ve not played anything on other platforms)

@timdp I'd suggest scrolling through the eShop thread for more recommendations but my top ten, excluding Neo Geo and Psikyo shmup ports would be:

Celeste (wonderful platformer, potential GOTY so far)

Wizard of Legend (spellcasting roguelike, see very recent thread)

Danmaku Unlimited 3 (gorgeous bullet hell shmup)

Ikaruga (Ikaruga)

Steamworld Dig 2 (charming, addictive platforming exploration)

The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus (my GOTY17, I've played 300hrs, immense)

Steredenn Binary Stars (roguelike side scrolling shmup)

Flinthook (err, roguelike platforming, cool art style)

Enter the Gungeon (yep, roguelike, now in twin stick shooter form)

Rocket League (fuckin Rocket fuckin League)

everything on switch is an eShop game once you buy a big card and decide to go all digital, which is the only sane choice IMHO

any top 10 list that doesn't have Rocket League on it is incomplete.

If you're into shmups, there are also loads of brilliant ports, most notably:

Blazing Star NEO GEO

Dragon Blaze

Tengai

Zero Gunner 2

Gunbird

Strikers 1945 II

Samurai Aces

I'd also massively recommend the side scrolling Neo Geo brawler, Sengoku 3. Anyone wasting money on that Raging Justice shite should have just bought this. The best example of the form.

And for 2D sprite fighting games, Garou: MOTW and The Last Blade are absolutely stunning, both visually and to play.

Axiom Verge

Rocket League

Shovel Knight

Blaster Master Zero

Bloodstained Curse of the Moon

Snake Pass

N++

Sonic Mania

Yooka Laylee

Ikaruga

Then there are the arcade archives like

Vs Super Mario Bros

Vs Punch Out!

King of Fighters 98

Sengoku 3

Metal Slug

etc

Don't go digital, retail games are expensive, you can't just setup your account on another machine and download your titles onto it and it's a massive headache if it breaks or gets stolen.

You're just doubling down on potential losses.

When you say 0 phone signal, do you mean GPS?  PoGo will work with WiFi in your house, or do you mean outside there is no signal, so you need the WiFi?

Nothing ever spawns in my house :(

I met someone at a PoGo raid last weekend who has started playing again since the announcement. As @probotector said, I think PoGo will see more players either starting, or taking ti up again in anticipation - many of whom will obviously not already have a Switch.

Digital suggestions...  It's worth noting that Axiom Verge physical (not the limited one) is 15 quid on Amazon / Argos which is about the same as the eShop at the moment.

If physical is your bag that is, and you're not saving the planet with @Shimmyhill

At least buying a physical game on Switch rather than Bone or ps4 is at least a 50% reduction in plastic use...

Both, I don't get any signal of any sort in Norfolk, the only way I can play is when I'm connected to the WiFi.

That sounds both irritating and refreshing at the same time, in almost equal measures too.

The videogame community is always obsessed with new content. Why is that? I bought a PS4 just to play Street Fighter V and whatever else comes is welcome.

My Switch's list of games is glorious. Yes well... Obviously sooner or later there was going to be a slowdown in releases. Whatever.

Switch eshop game lists are all well and good but the Switch remains a Zelda/Mario/Mario Cars/Splatoon machine first and foremost. Get them on the eshop before anything else if you’re going digital.

Everything else has been second tier compared to these games.
