Xbox One backwards compatibility - sales until the heat death of the universe

Recommended Posts

So it seems like this emulator is really up to snuff now, and Bone versions can be seen as perfect or better repacements of 360 games. (Unlike original Xb games on the 360 which all seem to have some issues) Is it just Microsoft who have to put in the leg work to get these games up and running? The publishers just have to give them the okay to add their games to the system?

Who pays the bandwidth fees for downloading the new exes? Are only games with existing digital versions eligable for the program?

Just wondering what the likelyhood is of stuff like Lollipop Chainsaw, Singularity, The Darkness II, Shadows of the Damned etc etc being added?

Cult stuff that bombed commercially. Who pulls the trigger here?

If it's a free-for-all and everything that doesn't have licensing issues will eventually be added, then this really is becoming a killer feature to me.

It's the first one that didn't already have a digital version available though.

It's not. Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut is on 2 discs and isn't available digitally.

I think it's because it's the first big major multi-disc release. No one batted an eye when DE:HRDC came out because the original Human Revolution was already BC. That was definitely the first though (The Witcher 2 came on a multi disc but there was a digital version as well).

PGR 3 and 4 have never been available digitally which makes them highly unlikely to ever appear.

Lost Odyssey shows they've cracked the multi disc issue opening the doors for Max Payne 3 and the Mass Effect sequels though.

I don't think that Mass Effect 2 and 3 have ever been available as digital downloads for the 360, so even with multi-disc support I'm worried we'll never see those become BC :(
