Oh holy shit Max Payne 3 is utterly incredible. I don't think we've seen a shooter since that feels so chunky and brutal. Leaning out of a helicopter with a big rifle shooting lads in the legs so that they tumble down stairs. Grabbing a revolver, shooting a guy in the head and then just pumping him full of bullets just to see the animation as he drops. As much as I feel like a psychopath typing that it fits quite well with Max as a character; Rockstar have managed to make Max Payne one and two Max look like a down to earth multi faceted character. 3's is dark and ridiculous and hideously offensive and completely stupid at all times. And I feel like they're aware of this, too. One minute he'll be hanging from a helicopter shooting rockets, the next he's dropping two feet from said helicopter and doing an old man noise whilst clutching his back. The story feels both properly grim and utterly hilarious. Current picks;

I wouldn't have know right from wrong if one of them was helping the poor and one was banging my sister.

We don't have time for America!

Her outfit left little room for imagination, let alone food.

I remember quite enjoying the game back in the day but not thinking it was crazy special. I bought it in the most recent sale and can easily see myself flying through it over the weekend and loving every second.

Yep it's a good one alright

I finished Binary Domain the other day. Enjoyable mindless fun blasting robot limbs but christ has it aged badly in the story and dialogue department.

Terribly Sexist jokes at the expense of the female characters and the whole "people born from robots are not real people" shtick just didn't ring right with me (this was no doubt intentional, just handled poorly). Dan and his mate Bo just come over as complete unlikeable pricks. Hard to believe this is 10 years old, feels older!

"Becker! I know EVERYTHING Becker!"

The slow motion kill cams remain incredibly brutal. An upsetting thing happened to me playing Max Payne 3 when I replayed it a few years back - I was almost dead so dived and starting firing wildly, clipped the last guy in the leg so he fell backwards and then got a slow motion shot of my last bullet flying straight in to his arsehole.

More terrible old dickhead murder simulators in the vein of this and Kane and Lynch please.

I have picked up Vegas in the hope that I will eventually get around to doing all the Terrorist Hunt co-op missions on Realistic difficulty (also my disc copy is in the UK so eh). However, that will require finding someone equally bloody-minded to carry help me out. Don't suppose anyone here is willing/able/free for that kind of shenanigan?

Has anybody here managed to buy Skate 2 since it was added? It's unavailable on the main store but I've seen various reports of people managing to successfully activate codes (with some saying they couldn't get them to work, possibly a regional thing) and others that they could buy it through the old 360 marketplace. If I try to buy it here I just get an error.

I'm happy to chuck £15 at it if I know I can get it to work but what I'm reading isn't filling me with a huge amount of confidence. Series S here so the disc isn't an option.

If you can get a code, it'll probably work. The codes that are out there are going to be leftover from original release. If a game is delisted then new codes won't be generated for them.

Managed to do the same with the original Forza Horizon DLC and Doom XBLA.

It's frustrating that they don't discount DLC by the same amounts.

I've been planning to start a playthrough of FFXIII-2 for ages, been keeping an eye on the DLC for a sale. The main "pack" which contains most of the bits you'd want has a whole 10% off :( which means that at over a tenner it's significantly more expensive right now than the game itself.

That’s part of it, but there are three character-based chapters for Snow, Sazh and Lightning too, the last of which is apparently quite a significant epilogue. Plus a bunch of costumes and other cosmetic gubbins. It’s not a bad amount of DLC now they’ve bundled it all up, I’ll probably end up getting it anyway.

You're welcome. I saw it on sale and remembered that someone on here had missed out on it recently, so took a look and there you were!

As they'd say in my local 'spoons, "Enjoy" :).
