Officially ordered to series and that title is now official...

When heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends.

Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat.. One in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
The drama—which hails from Arrow and Flash executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, as well as Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter—also stars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson) and Caity Lotz as White Canary, Sarah Lance having been resurrected via the Lazarus Pit..
With the spin-off going to series, that means Berlanti will have four superhero projects on the air next season following CBS’ pickup of Supergirl. The project—which aims to honor the great team up movies—joins a long line of comic book properties that are either coming to or are currently on television.
For its part, Warner Bros. has Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, iZombie and Gotham. Constantine has burned out in the ratings (though is still officially under consideration for next season). The studio also has Titans and Lucifer in contention at other networks. Over at Marvel, ABC has renewed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but has opted for another series of Agent Carter over the Adrianne Palicki/Nick Blood-starring spin-off. Netflix of course has Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the subsequent team-up project The Defenders.

In addition it looks like some of the cast

may make an appearance on the season finale of The Flash..

Wells becoming a recurring villain on there also?

An immortal threat?

Vandal Savage?

I really need to catch up on Arrow now huh.

This looks brilliant, admittedly it looks like it's trying to tap into the whole Avengers Ensemble Works Stuff, but that trailer certainly makes it looks like it'll work.

Roll on 2016. :)

They've not started filming from what I understand.. The rooftop scenes with Barry and Oliver were filmed on the Flash set and were assumed to be part of it's finale.. (and could still be..)

This was reportedly filmed more as a taster.. while they may well have filmed scenes that will be part of first ep they've not started up full production yet.. Most series that will screen in Sept/Oct don't start up filming again for another couple of months..
On the brighter side - if this screens while Flash and Arrow are off the air (like Agent Carter did for SHIELD) it might mean we get fewer/no gaps in those shows next season..

'The season will be essentially one 13-ep movie'

"White Canary"

Wut?

It's an existing DC character - nothing to do with Sara Lance there though.. she was an assassin who took the name to essentially piss off Black Canary as she tried to get revenge on her..

She is so much better than Laurel.

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as stunt casting is a genius move. I'm in almost just for that.

EDIT: I hope T-Bag turns up.

T-Bag is Clock King in this DC TV Universe, and Abruzzi is Count Vertigo. Just hoping for Sucre and C-Note to show up next.
