@McSpeed will there be a VR event when this comes out Friday? I'm going to give it a whirl if I can stop from blowing chunks everywhere.

Any idea on price of the upgrade?

No idea on how the VR stuff will work in practice. I'm away for the entire weekend, but should be getting into it next Monday :)

I watched some real WRC rallying last night for a few minutes, more or less by accident. It was in Sweden and one guy clipped the inside of a snowy bank on the first corner and spun around to be facing the wrong way. I felt a lot better.

@McSpeed something for this week? How about Wales?

I'll try to set something up. Heading to Belgium tomorrow (until Sunday) for participation in a real-life rally, so I'm not sure wether I can manage.

Next week for sure though :)

I can not wait for the VR Patch!!!!!!

I might get a wheel if they have done it right and it work as before with almost like for like graphical quality (on a pro at least)

I think the big thing with this game is the going to be the image quality and being able to see corners in the distance.

if you go to the vr section in the store, then games there's a big dirt rally vr banner thing, select that and you get....Nothing. great.

It won't let me buy the DLC.

I'm not the only one apparently either.

I've alerted the team - they're investigating.

No doubt its a PS Store entitlements issue

I bet it was Russia again wasn't it!

bought it. Now I just have to suffer a day of work on 4 hours sleep before I get home to try it out.

im secretly hoping it's shit so I don't go out and spend £150 on a £100 steering wheel lol

i read elsewhere on the internet that the cars have no rear end? Like every car is a half finished cut 'n shut? Weird. Not the biggest issue I guess. Just need some fury dice and dashboard unlocks like in Dirt 2.

All installed and wheel set-up.

Not touched it since bought as I wanted to start it with the VR. It's probably going to be a bit hard for me but I'll try and persevere.

Using a T150 and Playseat.

Its great fun in VR, graphics are good (enough), a little blurry like all VR but an improvement on DC, i'm on the PS4 Pro. Just took a Escort Cosworth through the forests of wales, amazing fun, it was lashing down as well. Yep, no backs to the cars that you can see, not like you have time to look backwards anyway. I did sideswipe a gate with the backend of my car and there was impact so it is 'there'.

Also, done some rally cross and was competitive, so once you are settled in VR you can be on the pace with others who i presume may not be in VR?

Verdict = stunning

It is really hard but the key things to remember are to not floor the accelerator and you can normally get quicker times by going slower and staying on the track rather than going full speed into a tree.

personally I stay away from rear wheel drives.

Had a go, started on the Rallycross.

Finshed last every quali/heat apart from once I finished 2nd.

My car is so much slower than the others though as after start they all whizz off into the distance. I presume I'll have to upgrade the car to be competitive.

But.......spewk city again! :(

Seems every game now I get motion sickness. Didn't really on Driveclub so was optimistic with Dirt. Must be the bouncy screen.

It's starting to put me off VR altogether now. I won't sell up just yet but I'm defo losing the urge to use it. Damn.

The Rally cross is really hard. The game is just really hard. I don't think I've ever "won" a race or stage.

i can't speak for how this is in VR yet but if I can do Trackmania I think I'll be fine.

Looking sideways in a VR car is a bit of a no no for me. It's the bit where you turn your head that does it.

Have you changed the in car settings? From what I understand by default they're sort of locked - like having a car dashboard strapped to your head. Changing it is more akin to Driveclub.

Yeah, it's all good.....can look all about as in Driveclub.

Will probs try the game without VR, had to do the same with RE7 as that made me sick too.

Shame, I love it but just don't seem to get on with it.

@McSpeed Can we get another rally going? Lots of fresh interest with the PSVR launch. I like the Wales suggestion. How about the kit cars?

He's away for the weekend so don't think he'll be able to setup - Belgium I think he mentioned, playing on the Switch.

The only thing that makes me remotely spewy is reversing in Driveclub.

I just gave this a go in vr but for only as long as it took my ready meal to ping in the microwave.

love the feel of it. The PSVR view makes me think I'll actually be able to set better times and do better overall.

i don't think it looks as good as I was expecting though. The car and everything around you looks great but the shadows and distance objects are on par with Driveclub. Lots of jaggies.

I guess that's what you get when you add in something like this when it wasn't intended in the first place.

its still great though.

No sickness for me at all. The graphics aren't that much of an improvement on DriveClub VR's, though.

After a baptism of fire and penalties, I'm slowly getting into the swing of things. Sweden's stages are the best so far.
