(Already posted in other thread, but figure I should stick it in what will probably become the main one) Well, I'm glad to see they're putting out another one, though a little less excited at the focus on GUNZ that appears to be going on in these screenshots.

Sold! No bosses plz or at least let us talk to them (as edge would say)

A bit early to start worrying, surely you understand that screenshots of people talking aren't marketable.

Oh, I know that, but I like to set my expectations low.

I'm sure that you, as a fellow veteran of THI4F and Absolution, can understand :(

Yes of course, but this is a follow-up to a fairly recent game being made (I assume) by the same team. I liked the previous game apart from the aforementioned bosses and the lack of variety in your final build. If they do the same but prettier and fix those two issues, I'll be very happy indeed. THIAF and Abomination were ill-advised 'modern' (read: stupid and juvenile) reinterpretations of gameplay formulas that were already perfect. I think I can afford to be optimistic. Again.

Interesting that they're following on with the same protagonist unlike, you know, all the other Deus Ex games. We can look forward to more gravelly voiced introspection then. I loved Human Revolution, would love more of the same with some of the kinks ironed out (better bosses, less air ducts), but set in a world where augmentations are becoming increasingly commonplace and more advanced. I assume they'll just make one of the totally pointless 'decisions' we had to make at the end canon.

Not sure how much it affected development but that leak they had prior to release got some serious feedback from players to the point they allowed it on their discussion boards. It was what made me buy it day 1 rather than wait and see, Wonder if they would have turned it into a shitshow had it not got such positive buzz.

I absolutely adored Human Revolution. Loved what it was trying to do despite a few big missteps. As much as I'd love it if they went back to more of what made the original such a a classic, just more of HR would be enough to keep me happy.

This is the best news. I loved HR. The 360 degrees body shotgun, the throwing of fire extinguishers from rooftops to murder hobos, the 6 foot 7ish robot man half made of metal sneaking around in vents like a small child. Loved it.

DE:HR was the very best we were going to get, in an era over-saturated with shooters. Maybe that sounds like I didn't love it, but it just means that I can forgive its many flaws.

I replayed it last year with the developer commentary, and it was clearly made by a team who really wanted to make it work. I think they succeeded, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the series next. I don't care so much if there's a focus on tricking out guns as long as I can stick a laser sight on my tranquilizer crossbow.
