Yes, both Kyn and Bloodlust look interesting but currently aren't slated for Mac release so they're not on my wish list (this could change though)..

I believe Massive Chalice is out 1 June on PC and shortly thereafter on XBO, where I'll likely pick it up.

So just read that Chris Avellone is leaving Obsidian to do... something. Maybe a Van Buren (the original Fallout 3) revival with inXile: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/06/09/chris-avellone-obsidian/

From the RPS article:

But recent talk of the Van Buren trademark – linked to an abandoned Fallout spiritual successor – makes inXile seem like the strongest candidate if Avellone is set to join an ongoing project. Eurogamer spoke to Brian Fargo recently:

…he had more to say – implying he intends to make something Van Buren with Chris Avellone, if and when inXile has time. (Avellone retains close ties to inXile, having been involved in Wasteland 2 and, now, Torment: Tides of Numenera.)

I asked if Fargo was doing anything with the Van Buren trademark. “Not yet,” he replied. “But there were some things, some ideas, that Chris Avellone had for doing something that made the post-apoc – a twist on the whole what-was-being-done that we really loved. So we talked about it and we thought why not grab the rights so we can entertain this one of these days.

“But nothing now,” he stressed. “We have enough on our plate to be doing that right this second.”

Sword coast legends confirmed for release 8 September PC and Mac, console versions to follow. Woot!

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-09-d-and-d-adventure-sword-coast-legends-gets-release-date-console-versions

This really is a good time to be an RPG fan

Looking forward to revisiting the Sword Coast. Not that far away, either - I really do need to clear at least some of the other RPGs I have on the go!

Oof, going for a summer 2016 release.

From what I've read the USP seems to be historical verisimilitude / absence of magic, but I wonder if that extends to crafting and alchemy too.....

Yea apparently they're trying to keep it pretty real, I watched an early developer video where the guy mentioned 'potions' you craft are based on real medicines and tonics used around 1403. It showed the player sharpening a blunt sword on a grinding wheel it looked authentic as it lost it's dull finish and became shiny ????

Also the combat seems to address all the gripes people had with Skyrim. Totally keeping an eye on this one, due next summer apparently...

I've started Trillion:God of Destruction on the Vita. When I say started, I mean I put an hour into it last night so far. But I liked the concept and give it seems to have been developed by half the Disgaea team, it was a no brainer for me.

Basically the aim of the game is to train your squad of six to defeat a god with a trillion HP. There will be death, and lots of it apparently. Not got up to that part yet, but the writing and characters seem well done, particularly if you're a an of Disgaea.

Not going to keep banging on about it, but if you are maybe a lurker here, or anyway not currently on my friends list and are into your RPGs (of whatever nature) on XB, would you kindly look at joining RPG addicts?  We have some traction but are always looking for new members.  It's a private club which means everything after the "front page"is restricted to members only . Got a decent geographical spread so far too.

(I knew this thread would be good for something).

I've requested to join this club so if you could accept that would be cool, thanks.

Anyone interested in the evolution of CRPGs from the earliest days could do a lot worse than check out this labour of love from Felipe Pepe.

I love the short article in the introduction in which students were given the task of playing Ultima IV for 5 days. Not a single one of them bothered to read the written materials supplied for them.

When I first posted the above, I was simply thinking of it as a sign of these arguably post-literate times, but, on learning (from the book) the ultimate objective of this particular game, it instead appears to be the ultimate irony.
