Track your gaming expenditure for the whole of 2015

Nothing from me this month. Saving up for a mortgage so I'm not to buy any more games until I get through the ones I've got. I've cancelled my HUKD alerts and have stopped skulking about the Trading folder

In all honesty, though, it has actually been quite nice not to add any more to the pile this month. It's making me spend more time with the games I already own.

Nothing on the horizon now, either. Yoshi next month but I've paid for that already.

In September I will probably break and get the big "all the previous content too" edition of Destiny: TTK as my brother often invites me to do co-op stuff and will be playing. Aside from that I doubt I'll be getting much else...

Well, crap. Pressure from Destiny fans got to me and I ended up getting TTK. Even so, my total expenditure so far has come from a couple of full-price games, a PS+ sub and a Humble Bundle, so it's not like I'm building up an enormous pile of shame with my purchases (well, maybe the PS+ games )

I can't think of anything coming out in October that I'm hugely keen on - Rock Band 4 would completely ruin my total to date, plus the only people I'd want to play with probably aren't going to be interested in picking the game up for a while.

I can't see me spending much more this year either - I'll be buying gifts for Steam Secret Santa but I don't include gifts for others in my spends.

£181 isn't my cheapest year, but it's much better than 2015 and when I break it down most of it comes from a PS+ sub, a DLC and three full-price games (Bloodborne, Superbeat Xonic, Destiny TTK), so I haven't exactly been buying games left right and centre. Of course, money saved will all disappear next year when I buy {Playstation VR / replacement gamepad / Steam controller / insert other unnecessary new hardware}

So this year I tracked my ENTIRE gaming expenditure on a giant spreadsheet along with graphs

The headlines are:

- Subtotal of almost £1200 spent on games

- Total of £646 actually spent (£1200 less rebates)

- 181 games purchased (inc PS+ & Humble Bundles)

- Monthly average of £53.84 spent on 16 games

- 25 games completed, completion rate of 13.8%

Next year I'll be looking to limit my expenditure even further, possibly with a focus on PC games rather than console too.

Video games in red, there. Totalling, er, £2,821.98 over the year. Not bad when I only earned £16,391.92 in that time! I did get a PS4, Bone and New 3DS amongst other things, but yeah, not the most sensible proportion of money, particularly seeing as I ended the year on a total net profit of, um, £31.65.

Still, I look forward to seeing what my severe reduction in games purchases (plus the promotion I interviewed for and got just before Christmas) will do for my finances next year!
