Pre-order exclusive costumes split across multiple retailers are absolute nonsense. Were the HMV exclusive Udon costumes for USFIV ever available to buy as DLC?

I'm sure there's going to be an absolutely absurd amount of costume DLC for this game. I wonder if it'll all be full, coherent designs like those or if there will be accessories to mix and match, like Virtua Fighter 5? Jeffry McWild covered in sharks is the manliest of all men.

One gets the impression those pre-order costumes may have been intended to be the original concepts for the returning characters going into the game before someone higher up panicked and demanded they look exactly the same as they have for the last 20+ years. With the exception of (possibly film inspired?) Bison, they look rather nifty.

If Ryu's in his fifties now (but clearly a Tom Cruise/Johnny Depp 50s), I guess Chun's in her 40s now? And Cammy can't be too far behind. You'd think at some point they'd all just decide they're too old for this shit.

Game is set before Streetfighter 3, so they haven't really aged that much

Ryan Hart's playing right now on Capcom Fighters' stream:

Even Ryan couldn't get Necalli doing anything much, the Capcom rep fucked him with Vega.

So based on Capcom's breakdown of the launch roster:

8 classics: Ryu, chun li, Ken, M.Bison, Cammy, Vega, ???, ???

4 newcomers: Necalli, ???, ???, ???

4 characters we haven't seen for a while: Nash, Birdie, R.mika, ???.

Who do we like to fill the classic and haven't seen for a while slots?

Would be happy with almost any 3S character who wasn't in SF4. Necro, Oro and Urien would be my top 3. Alex down near the bottom. I don't get the love for Alex really. I think he's a bit rubbish.

For the classics I'm not too fussy. A lot of folks are predicting Sagat and Balrog just to have the full Shadaloo bosses quota. I'd welcome Sagat but Balrog can piss right off.

If Dhalsim and Necro aren't in I wonder if we'll have a new noodly-limbed range fighter instead? I hope there is at least one of those in the game. I love them.

I'd love Oro to be in this. I really enjoy using him in 3S, but have never really had time to invest in that game properly.

Oro would be magnificent. The way the hits and blocks feel really heavy and weighty in SFV would suit him perfectly. He had the most satisfying buttons in 3S for me and they would feel great here too. Also a V-Trigger where he unleashes his second arm that he keeps in a sling as a self-imposed handicap would be just the best, though Tengu Stone would be a fairly obvious V-Trigger as well. Would like to see his fireballs in a game where they'd be useful too.

I'd like to see Karin too. I used to think it was one of those things people said to not sound like "09ers", but having a more extended dabble with Alpha 3 again recently has reminded me that she is actually lots of fun.

A fully fleshed out Twelve would be a lot of fun as well. He felt like an incomplete character in 3S but would love to see him in the new art style with a full set of skills. I feel like they could do whatever they wanted with him as he was only in one iteration of SF3 and was a bit of a non-factor.

I'd love to see Juri back at some stage. Out of the characters created for SF4 she is easily my favourite as I feel she is the most complete and well thought out by far.

I'd like to see another 360 grappler type in there, like Hugo, Thawk or Gief (Mika arguably had one or two 360 moves in Alpha, but it sounds like she only has quarter and half-circle specials at the moment, unless some moves get patched or something...)

I still believe the siliconera leak of Alex, urien and karin to go alongside r mika.

But I would assume they are working on the first dlc characters too and could swop people in and out depending on how well work is progressing on each one, which I would guess is why we got the reveal of vega, which came out of nowhere.

Maybe we'll find out next week when Ono is in Dubai.

If we're doing a wish list for those three spots I'll have makoto, necro and c viper please.

Sodom could fill a quasi-grabbler spot and fulfil the those not seen for a while criteria. He's suitably daft too, which I think helps. I don't really think there's a chance though.

Sheng Long for new IP is a shoe-in. Shoe Long. Shlong.

I don't get much sleep these days.

I've said before I'm really liking the look of this in terms of how the game plays, but these latest shots are leaving me feeling pretty uncomfortable regarding the sexualisation of everything. I wonder if Capcom are aware that a fair (and growing?) amount of their audience are put off by tits and pecs everywhere? It was pretty bad in SFIV, some of the character intros had me cringing especially when playing with others around, but this is some next level bullshit.
