Remember when the Preston Thomas said he'd leave social media and never come back after losing that competition with George? as in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9oLGiJHuPI

Is this not his "Dulcet tones" on this video?

With this video promoting a new Facebook group..

Anyway, what happened with the court case?

This is hilarious (Taken from the Levy leaks website) - http://www.zxvega.co.uk/levy-leaks/david-levy-fails-to-attract-people-to-child-sex-robots/

So is this all over now?

Nope, there's legal stuff to come but Levy and co have vanished. Suzy has stepped down as Director and changed the name on the campaign to his, which would make him fully liable to IGG.

Looks like it is for now. I really hope they don't get away with it, but I can't see the fraud squad sending their top team in to sort this out.

Will IGG do anything about it? I doubt they'd want the additional publicity and will try to bury it.

New leak is out!

http://zxvega.co.uk/levy-leaks/vertex-moulding/

Vertex Moulding Ltd chase down Suzanne Martin for an update on the Vega+ project, but Suzanne makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with Retro Computers Ltd. She sends them off in David Levy's direction, as he is the last remaining captain going down with the sinking ship.

David Levy's maths also leaves a lot to be desired, as 9000 cases have been made, but only 1000 sets of buttons.

I'm now really suspicious of who is behind that website and those leaks.

I know it's hard not to take the instant cynical view about it, but if you look at that email from an RCL point of view - it gives the impression that, on the 10th of October 2018, their supplier is now saying

Quote

I’d appreciate an update on the progress/situation with the console as we currently have 9000 case mouldings and 5000 window mouldings in stock awaiting despatch.

or "we've got 9000 vega+ cases manufactured and ready to go"

Quote

The last discussions I was having with Suzanne was looking into the printing and scratch resist coating of the windows and she said she had found a company capable of doing it.

or "a complaint of the initial batch was the poor quality screens, Suzanne has said this is fixed"

Quote

Also I am aware that the ‘over stiffness’ of the rubber keypads was never really sorted at HDTS so I would be happy to discuss this with you.

or " another complaint of the initial batch was the stiffness of the buttons, we can fix that"

At no point does the email talk about payment issues, it's simply asking for an update.

So how would this site get a hold of an email dated 10th October 2018 - 2 days ago? The implication before was that somehow RCL's email was "hacked" for earlier email leaks, but I'd presume they'd changed passwords etc. The only way they could have got this email was if Simon Pratt, the author of that email, sent it to the website.

But why would he? He's just asking for an update on what to do with the mouldings.

That's why I'm suspicious who is running that website. RCL have complained about "trolls" causing delays. They have an alleged history of making up fake social media accounts, which then "troll" RCL.

That recent email leak makes absolutely no sense at all - the date of when it was leaked, the text in the email and the text in the page itself.

Of course, I might be wrong...

its Suzy, trying to leave a paper trail, for creditors and backers, that makes it clear that none of this is her fault. That she tried to produce the thing, look at her dealings with all the suppliers, alas David Levy took the money, and she's no longer a director...

it's pathetically transparent.

But they have a history of this sort of thing together don't they?

very much so, in fact it's pretty much the first time I became aware of the pair, following their escapades in Private eye, back at the turn of the century

I registered just to say that the website http://retro-computers.co.uk seems sketchy as hell in claiming that something this recent is a "leak" - who would be left at RCL to be leaking anything?

That has to be the most tedious reply possible, does Levy even know how to register for a forum? I have been following this story since I saw it on The Register and recognised the name of one of the key protagonists as someone I know of through work and it being mentioned that he was into all things Spectrum. Anyway as there is no possible way I can prove who I'm not over the internet and frankly am not really bothered who anyone thinks I might be there is zero point continuing.

eh, you've got it easy... when I signed up here I was lee fogarty. wanna trade?

I suppose accusing people of things is a lot easier than answering interesting questions such as who is left at Retro to be leaking emails? If I was said leaker why would I be asking this? One of the interesting things about this whole saga is just how unlikeable all the protagonists seem to be, it is good for consistency's sake that this includes the commentators.

I've obviously pissed you off with my (admittedly shite) jokey comment about being one of RCL's finest.

Seeing a new user joining just to comment in this thread is a bit odd, but I guess stranger things have happened. Sorry if I've offended you.

On with the Vega show though, the Retro Computers site has a minor update about court proceedings.

http://retro-computers.co.uk/daily-blog/#20181012

It doesn't give a lot of detail, just the fact that the current silence is at the court's request.

I still think it'll all eventually fizzle out with no real outcome.

I only see two ways something might happen for backers in terms of getting something back.  They raise a class action(or individual action) against RCL or another director comes on board to take over RCL. If another creditor like a solicitor takes action , backers might be the end of the creditor line in regards to getting something back

@Ninja Doctor Yeah I remember that, I must admit it was annoying as a new member back then to have to prove who I was.  Not exactly something that said welcome to the forum
