Just Cause 3

My PS4 has been gathering dust since I finished Dying light, I even let my PS+ sub lapse, I don't know man, this generation just hasn't gripped me like the previous one and there's no exclusives I want yet.

I considered buying JC3 for the PS4 but these framerate and load time issues have put me well off, PC version it is, my PC is super loud when working hard but I'm used to it now and maybe the game will run in 3D.

The huge amount of motion blur and awful framerate may well combine to make this the first game to ever make me feel nauseous.

I just thought the same thing watching that helicopter video. Never had an issue with any other game, ever. That video freaked me out, though.

Does anybody have any good impressions of this? Is it as much fun as it looks, framerate issues aside?

yes, I said earlier in the thread I have it on PS4 and love it - I put 10h in over the weekend and its the first game in several years I've played for that long over a couple of days.

I'm sorry but the frame rate is far from horrendous. Bloodborne is worse. The hyperbole is ridiculous, you would think it was as bad as Dark Souls on the 360 or Infernal, which genuinelly did run at 5-10 fps :o

Bloodborne isn't worse.

The drops in this are persistent and regular. Even driving provokes them.

Don't know if the drops will show up on stream but I'll be streaming here for a while: http://www.twitch.tv/harrybizzle/

I've preordered the Xbox One version and despite some of the negative feedback on the framerate/physics engine I'm still feeling pretty positive about it. Just Cause 2 ran like ass in places on the 360 but it didn't spoil my enjoyment at all, hell even on PC in places there was pop in and frame drops, it's still one of my most played games on Steam, though.

My only real concern is the load times, especially if the game is as much fun as it looks.

I imagine if I were to play the consoles versions then I wouldn't give two shits about the framerate, load times would be annoying until they patch it or you get better at it. Tbh the game looks really fun and Im jealous of all you folk playing the game early, not long to go now.

It's perfect post work pick up a play material - I've just had a lovely hour noodling about clearing non story mode town and bases and the finesse in controlling Rico really coming together, there is a lot to get to grips with initially.

Happy to say no server signing errors today either

Here is eurogamer on the framerate debate

In all seriousness, even if the PC version was more expensive and I had a PC that would run the game noticeably worse than the console versions, I would still get the PC version if the developers don't bother to put in an option to turn motion blur off. I really dislike that effect and I find it really annoying when it's turned all the way up high, like it was in FF Type 0 HD and now in this game. I do wonder why developers do this - they spend all that time and hard work creating a beautiful environment, only to blur it all to fuckery when the player so much as looks at the analogue stick. First thing I noticed when I watched the preview videos was the screen looking like it was smeared with a thick layer of vaseline whenever the camera moved slightly. Bleurgh.

Just like some developers love chromatic abberation and I don't know why. It's not stylish, it's not cool, it's a defect photographers try to minimise and get rid of - why the fuck would I want something that degrades image quality in a game I'm playing ? I hate motion blur as well, one of the first things that gets turned off if I have the option.
