Surely frame rate dips aren't a big deal in a game like this? It's hardly a precision combat game like Bayonetta. Yes we'd all like butter smooth but it's hardly as if fluid frame rates have been a staple of the HD era.

It's gotten so bad that I can't control my character. I'm sorry if I'm banging on about it - I've never cared about frames per second before but this is seriously bad here.

Locked 30fps is fine! But sub-20fps is an eyesore! And this game has slowdown! I haven't experienced that in years!

And here's my loading time between retries on an early mission. Died 3 or 4 times and had to wait 3+minutes between retries for the fucking thing to load!

People were moaning about the load times on Fallout 4 but this is so much worse.

Has anyone else suffered the same frame rate issues you have Simmy? I played for another hour or so last night after commenting I hadn't seen much and was deliberately looking out for it. Still couldn't see anything like you described.

Fair enough pal. I've not played it yet so just talking generally.

I'm not sure actually. I know the Xbox One version has been slaughtered for its performance but I've not seen any talk about the PS4 version. Wondering now if I'm the only one!

You've had no frame dips or long loading times? No times when it's felt like the game is almost running in Slow motion?

The only major slowdown I have had is when you take over a town/base, when it goes into slow motion on purpose.

I've also noticed that the controls for the helicopter arent 100% precise, so it can make the gameplay feel a bit sluggish at times.

Still not having much FPS slowdown though.

It'd be a shame if there was slowdown. I was always impressed with how rock solid the engine was for Just Cause 2.

Yeah, PS4 and with the patch.

Well, I'm waiting until next year now to buy it now, as I'm playing a lot of Fallout 4. Hopefully, further patches might sort out any issues by then.

Argh, not only do they use the word 'FAILED' when you die but you're punished with 3+mins of loading time? I die all the time in these games, I don't think I can punish myself like this so will avoid it unless it's brought down to less than 30secs.

From the title screen where you just hit X, there's a loading screen to get into the main menu and I've just timed it at 1m55s.

But that then lets you start immediately, which isn't something you could do when you first started the game.

It looks nice but at some point I'm gonna switch to PC. Very disappointed with how it runs on the whole.

Embargo lifts at 7PM Eastern Time, which is midnight here. Pretty poor.

I expect it's a combination of poor performance on consoles and they think it won't review that highly because even though the games are popular they've never done.

I just liberated an outpost and the framerate remained about 20 throughout.

Are you playing on PS4?

There's others in this thread with no frame rate problems on PS4. Could it be something else at play? Only thing I've changed is that I've the 2tb hard drive in mine.

I myself have just liberated a huge harbour and the game came to a crawl. Genuinely must have been sub-20fps.

I've had slowdown. I was blowing up the large Satellite dish base near where Simmy was doing that mission in his last YT video. I was sat in a flak cannon and merrily shooting away at one of the red/white stacks with the cell tower like plates on the site and with the fire button continually pressed, the rate of fire was noticeably fluctuating between about 2 shots a second and 1 shot a second. Didn't seem to be bad in the frame rate, though, but I have no idea really how to recognize it..

I've also had some long load times, but no-where near as bad as the load time example in Simmy's vid and i died a few times during that mission myself yesterday. I'd say about a minute to load each time for me, which is still too long when you are sat staring at the loading screen with an evil look on your face.

The hanging on the 'Failed' screen is unusual in my experience and there was no progress bar in the lower right corner around the hookshot thngy.

Were you playing online or offline, Simmy?

I went offline on the PS4 yesterday to stop the SE server shenanigans.

People on neogaf are reporting frame rate issues and the same slowdown too. The same thing happens on the Bone version.

There's definite slowdown and I think those who aren't reporting problems perhaps haven't noticed it.

I've switched the game mode on on my TV to reduce the response time and it helps with the feel of the game ever so slightly but I'm positive it goes below 20fps in places.

There's sections where I don't think people notice the framerate drop because it never hits 30fps.

I'm sticking to PS4 but only because on PC I can only play on weekends.
