Personally I think this is terrible.

Monopolys are bad, even if it does give Marvel all the characters to play with.

Agreed. I'd much rather they were just buying Marvel and Star Wars from Fox and thats it.

I'm not keen on Disney getting even more claws into various bits of the entertainment industry, but I can't deny I'm happy for Marvel having the characters back to play with.

Strangely though it's mostly just so they can use better villains again. I want a proper Dr Doom going up against the Avengers. I'm not that bothered about the F4 or Xmen joining really.

I reckon, the infinity gauntlet has messed with reality... suddenly.... Mutants exist.

Mutants could drive the narrative of the whole next few phases of the MCU, kinda like the 'New York incident' did post Avengers 1.

And when Doom appears I want Dr. Dooom featuring MF Doom as the soundtrack. Make it so.

I love MF Doom as much as the next headz but that be pretty stupid in reality.

Mads Mikkelsen was wasted in Doctor Strange, he be the perfect Doom.

Doom. It's gotta be Doom, he's better known to a wider audience and a better main villain.

And he kicked Galactus' ass during Secret Wars :P

I dont think that matters these days, most people didnt know who Thanos was.

Isn't it going to be a year before the deal goes through?  Won't they need a plan b if it's blocked?

Disney have 50 Billon to spend on Fox, I'm sure they done the homework and made sure everything is water tight before proceeding.

They've probably planned this a long time ago - probably before even Infinity Wars was started. Given that Infinity Wars 2 is meant to be the end of this phase of proceedings, and that's another 18 months away, they could easily have something set up and ready to go by late 2019. Not sure what, but something new relating to their new acquisitions.

Didn't Hugh Jackman say that he would reprise his role if Wolverine became part of the MCU?

Quote

Despite the best efforts of Ryan Reynolds to convince him to postpone his decision, Jackman has ruled out the possibility of a Deadpool/Wolverine movie, but he’s now admitted that the lure of a team-up with The Avengers would prove too much to turn down.

“If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause, that’s for sure,” Jackman told Screen Rant. “Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know. At the moment, honestly, if I really did have them there, I probably wouldn’t have said this is the last. It just feels like this is the right time [to leave the character].”

This nerd can dream.

Nah rather have everything fresh when they enter the MCU. It just throws up stupid continuity issues and it just wouldn't work mixing the Fox with Marvel universe.

I'd rather they start a fresh with Wolverine, as much as I like Jackman.  Logan was too good a send off for his version.

They should keep the Michael Chiklis version of the Thing makeup.  That's too astonishing to let slide into the past.  What the hell were they thinking.

Yeah, as much as I've loved Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, like Spider-Man I think it's best to start fresh and get in an actor who can play the role for the next decade (depending on how heavily hell feature in different movies).

This. But the one exception, the ONLY exception that I'd make is Reynolds as Deadpool. He literally is that character, a better fit would be impossible to find, and he just got started. I'd say keep Deadpool separate from the MCU in its own line if needs be to keep the rating.

With Deadpool you could have him in an Avengers movie without the swears by having him acknowledge he's in a PG/12  rated movie due to his fourth wall breaking ways.

Of course! Excellent idea. Maybe something like he swears in his first scene and gets bleeped, notices that he got bleeped and then is all like, 'oh yeah you guys are PG aren't you? Well bleep it, I'll play along'
