Guys, do you remember that time when these new shiny consoles launched and everyone thought "WOW LET'S DO REVOLUTIONARY STUFF ON THEM"? And we all couldn't wait to see what Codemasters could do with our beloved precious F1 licence!

My word, they could make a game now, a real advancement on everything that's ever come be--

... I mean these third rate developers, guys, they're so damn good at porting the same game to more powerful platforms with no compromises, aren't they?

In their defence, I do believe they are pushing to get it to 60fps. Could explain the lack of a leap in graphical quality. However, I'm just not interested, because their driver AI programming is and always has been utterly shameful.

It's not just that Chucks. 2014 season cars and tracks in a 2015 game, rush port job of the existing code base - so absolutely nothing new - and then periodic updates? The words "unfinished" game come to mind.

There's no revolution here, nothing has been built from scratch. It's just... the same. 60fps makes no difference in this situation.

And they've already dumped a load of staff off to 2016 so you can see how much they care about this iteration.

Oh how I've missed this league! Dependent on how many can race online, I may have someone new to bring into the fold. No, he's not a welshman; he's frop oop north. He's only recently (post Destiny) joined the forum. But he's an F1 fan.

I'll be picking up Project Cars. Just found a nice pre-order price from TheGameCollection.net - Currently £35.05 using code COMEGETSOME. I think they take the money now and not on release, which may be a downside for some.

F1 2014 is a tenner on Steam so I picked it up to play at lunch here at work. It's not so bad! The engines take a lot of getting used to though - I'm used to the high-revving ones 2010 - 2013 and these ones are quite different.

Managed to notch up 5th in my first career race in the Merc on the hardest difficulty (started last by accident).
