What else is there that we could use in the meantime? I am so up for some racing. I've ordered Horizon for a blast but I'm assuming it won't contain the circuit based gubbins we've used in the past for a championship.

It doesn't - organised stuff is better tuned to be of the "mess around" variety on FH2 really.

why not dig FM4 back out? An LMP championship in that could scratch many of the F1-related itches.

Not against digging out FM4, but sports/GT class only for me - hate the LMPs.

That would exclude a variety of the F1 crew though - not a great deal of Forzaists here.

Happy New Year to all the old RLLMUK F1 geezers. Hopefully the upcoming current gen Codies F1 game (or failing that Project Cars) will mean by the time 2015 is clicking into 2016 we will have got the band back together and I would have tried to get the upper hand on someone in a championship duel by puncturing their rear tyre with my front wing end plate at Spa.

Er... I mean... I hope that...

MEERMAN WHY??!

Well, I do professionally qualify according to their experience specs...

Shame Steve left. I know there were some issues with the games over the years, but they were still by far the best F1 console games ever released. Hope he lands on his feet wherever he goes.

I don't blame him, bar some utterly crazy design decisions (100% tyre wear in 2012, for instance). It's problematic on both sides though - Codemasters are too much of a back-alley, cut-corners developer to roll out a competent product year after year and if the FIA are as demanding about the licence as it seems to be, then the problem lies at the door of giving a third party company the rights to develop, where resources are always going to be infinitely more limited.

F1's audience is aging and the traction and budget is simply not there to provide a first party game like it was 10-20 years ago.

Do it!!

Don't do it! You'll be stained forever with a shit wage and that bloody logo on your CV!

First thing I would do: revert back to the original logo.

2010 was so good coming from the Sony and EA games. But then it must have been in dev for years.

TBH I would pay iRacing style fees for a proper F1 game that was continually given love rather than spat out periodically and left to wilt and die.

I suppose we need to start thinking about what we're doing if we're doing anything.

pCars is out on 20th March. Given the standard two weeks for finding bugs, getting used to the game and working out what content is best for a decent championship, I think we should aim for 2nd or 3rd week of April for actually starting something, BUT:

Who's buying it, and on what platform? I really don't crap a thing what side we play on, I'll go with the majority. Unless it's PC obv, in which case lel no.

This Is on my radar. Hopefully by then Destiny won't have such a hold on me and the baby will be sleeping a bit more in the evening.

PS4 for me. Fanatec wheel gathering dust. Need to sell that thing now really given its never going to work on the PS4.
