Me either. The fact it's not next gen is the final nail in the coffin.

Anyone know what a CSR Elite and pedals should sell for 2nd hand? Seems like I won't be using it with the PS4 anyway and, you know, I need to make some more space with a mini Marmite on the way ;)

No fucking chance.

I'm up for a PS4 pCars continuation of our league which I will happily kickstart if everyone's happy for me to do that, but not on Codeshitsters games anymore.

Again I would not like to be organizer of every season, I've been there, I've done that, I get too invested and then enter a deep sadness when it all goes tits up or naturally expires. But I am also happy to take an executive/second-in-command role for whoever takes over. Up to you guys ofc.

So when are we allowed to place bets on Marmite's kid being in F1 in about 20 years time?

I am all up for pCars, buying the hell out of that. Like most people here, Codemasters have blown too many chances and I'm not giving them my money again. I think I'd prefer a Destiny speeder bike championship over F1 2014.

Congrats with the mini-you, Marms.

Saying something being last gen is the nail to the coffin is a bit strong. It's a shit attitude. It's not as if the last gen has become obsolete overnight after the release of the Pee-S 4 and the Bone. I have decided not to jump the next-gen bandwagon until Fanatec have announced a compatible new wheel base + rim (which they hinted at recently), but until then I'm more than happy to get more out of my CSR and the racing games I curently own. And I've joined a really well organised (Turn10 sponsored) international racing league for Forza 4 that has some of the fastest FM4 people on the roster. Badger, Smith and Apking (now psych0dad67) are in it as well and it's hard, but amazing.

As for your wheel...Albert may be interested in it. SjoerdvKampen bought a CSR with elite pedals and the two little stick shifters for €200 over here. How does 300 pounds for your set (delivered) sound?

Think £300 delivered is going to be tough as the delivery to Holland (I'm presuming) will be rather expensive! Will look in to it though.

I said the current gen decision was the final nail. I'm just not hyped for this game in the slightest as it looks (based on the limited videos to date) to be a simple re-hash of the existing games with new rules and tracks included. I'm looking for something more than that to warrant a purchase and time invested (which will be ever more precious with a mini-me arriving).

For now I feel like it needs a complete next-gen overhaul to get me excited again (more processing power hopefully allowing them to do some really innovative things that maybe they can't on current gen). With Project Cars on the horizon a current gen F1 2014 just doesn't register as an interesting title unfortunately.

The promise of racing with you guys sometime soon would be great though. Hopefully we can find a title soon that works for everyone :)

So, are there any objections to me drafting up a proposal of how we could run this on pCars? Obviously we'd make it open to newcomers, as I'm sure there will be an audience here who buy pCars having never been part of the F1 league. However, what I know of pCars is limited at this point - I may consult Dimahoo, see if I can get anything else in mind. And absolutely 100% we should use all the features available to us - for instance using the entire 24 hour cycle distilled into an hour would be an amazing thing to be part of, for one race on the calendar. Likewise if in-game refuelling is a thing we should look to use that as well, and so on.

What's everyone's thoughts on doing this as a Formula 3/classic F1 arrangement? It would be nice to get a different bend on things after all this time of driving the cream of the crop.

All sounds good to me. I'd be well up for racing all the 'formula' cars.

With winter coming I am always more up for playing games. I've missed the racing. I wonder what pcars is like with the pad? I'd get another wheel but maybe not another hyper expensive fanny.

That doesn't work on the PS4/Bone yet, only PC. Not until they have come to terms with Sony & MS. One of the terms being that the rims have to have the appropriate buttons for each console (which you only can use for that particular console). More announcements from Fanatec on this at the end of the year.

I actually got an invite to purchase the V2 at a discount for €500 because I'm a Clubsport wheel owner, like some of you guys. Have you not received an email from them?

Visually it looks as nice as anything can realistically look on a 360. But that is not enough for me. The game needs a top to bottom redesign - which is hopefully coming in the next gen versions.

The HUD etc is so tired. It reinforces the feeling, true or not that this is just F1 2012: DLC pack 2.

Yeah that's even worse than I thought it might be. It looks like the exact same game right down to the on-screen displays. It might handle differently but it doesn't exactly sell itself as a worthy addition when it resembles the last couple of games so much.

The particularly crappy cherry on top is the car noises. I'm not listening to that shit again! It's a proper drone.

Oooh, amazon are doing pre order for the PS4 Thrustmaster T300RS for £249 - that is £80 quid less than it's rrp.

And this guy has an adapter so you can use your fanny pedals with a Thrustmaster

Well, finally got round to writing up my Eurogamer thoughts. Thought you might like to know what I thought of Project Cars.

Oh man, I'm all over this in November. Tried it on PS4. Now it was Dubai Autodome track (terrible) with every assist known to man on (terrible) with some sports cars (I think it was the type that race at Le Mans that aren't LMPs - the next class down). You had a day/night cycle, you had what felt like 60 fps, and despite all the assists you had ace handling. Game looks like it will be easily playable on pad.

The rumble is excellent, really helps with getting a feel for the car. Couldn't hear it (but could feel the noise vibration through pad) but a nice touch is the pit crew talk to you via DS4 pad speaker. Shame no open wheel cars to try but this is some good shit. No half baked console conversion for this, let us hope the online is good.
