Titans - DC's Teen heroes headed to TV?

Recommended Posts

Everything about this made me wonder what the hell is going on at DC.

Nightwing is such a strong iconic character and nothing in that felt like him. The other characters...sigh. Why isn't Starfire orange? It's kinda in her damned name. She is a fucking alien!

Somebody over at DC needs to step in and step up and fix all this shit.

Pfff. This is the real TT film:

Starfire: "Has there been a movie about you?"

Green Lantern: "There was a Green Lantern movie! But we... we don't talk about that one"

This is the only DC movie I will happily pay to watch at the cinema.

In one of the trailers on Cartoon Network, they reference Deadpool, which I found odd for a) Being a Marvel property and b) being a kids film.

However, I love watching Teen Titans on CN so looking forward to the film as it has the humour nailed in what I see in the trailers.

Yup. Spade created first. Deadpool was a copy including the swords etc.

I've never even watched the CN show but that trailer looked great.

The TV show looks like hot garbage.

Man, Teen Titans GO! is awesome; watch it!

The original Teen Titans cartoon was great (it was funny, but not full on wacky like the new Teen Titans cartoon). Not a fan of full on wackiness, but it beats that shite live action bollocks.

"Fuck Batman"? More like Fuck Titans, I'll go watch Teen Titans Go! (as well as to the movies) instead.

Oh FFS, the morons are out in force again. Anna Diop, playing Starfire, has been getting all sorts of vile abuse, because she's black.

It just looks so cheap. The same can definitely be said for some of the Marvel shows too, but it's even more pronounced when you have one of your characters turn in to tigers and so on.

The comics by Wolfman and Perez were so much fun, why does every DC property that transfers to live action, always have to be so damn violent and dark?

Dark is cheap, that's why there's so many B-Movie horror films, and idiots use it as a metric of "good". To make decent action scenes in a bright and vibrant world whilst keeping a consistant TV quality you'll end up multiplying your budget (by a fair bit) on both scenes and CGI. Comedy is also very hard to write.

So, if this is going to be on Netflix here, does that mean they are only releasing the DC streaming service in the US?

Not that I have much interest in it.

This is out now, has anyone watched it yet?

I have and thought it was pretty good.

Humorous in places, dark in places and quite violent in places.

5 out of 7.
