The Four Quarters Peckham

It's a bit of a long way to travel, but I'll give it a go!

I was more saying that they'd be better having unique tokens, rather than something easily available for cheaper than they sell them for.

I'll be interested to see if they're still going in 12 months time, since it's a concept I've often wondered if there is a market for.

The impression I got (I'm yet to go) is that the arcade bit is the gimmick to get you in. They make their money by charging you the best part of a fiver for a beer.

There's a photo of their drinks board up and it doesn't look too bad, it's not your common draft nonsense, more intresting craft beers which are more expensive.

I love this place so much. The beer's mostly craft stuff so is a bit pricey but that's basically the way everywhere in Peckham except the Gowlett now. The atmosphere is great once people get a bit steaming, and the awful music is forgiveable!

From tonight they've got "Hand Baked Arcade" doing an upstairs room with consoles attached to tiny CRTs:

Nintendo NES
Super Nintendo
N64
Sega Master System
Mega Drive,
Dreamcast
Saturn
Atari 2600

and an N64 on a projector :o

The 640x480 native-VGA-outputting Dreamcast on a cruddy CRT, while the smeary yucky N64 is on a projector? Madness!

Went here yesterday, really superb experience.

25p a go for Sega Rally, yes please!

Huge selection of craft beers, not going to say no!

Getting the girlfriend addicted to Streets of Rage, and now she wants a Megadrive, there could be no better outcome.

While I was there, I did think it would be a great place for a future rllmuk meet!

They've changed half the machines. Which means Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Simpsons Arcade, NBA Jam and Tetris have replaced stuff I never played (Super Off Road, Tekken, Golden Axe).

I never knew the arcade version of Moonwalker is completely different to the Mega Drive game.

Rise from your etc.

They've opened a few more - three in London, one in Bristol, and this week there'll be one in Newcastle - just a few months after we got an NQ64.

Looking forward to it. I like NQ64, but I can tell some of the machines are emulated. I'm hoping Four Quarters have a strong selection of authentic hardware :)
