The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Soooo... I've never played Skyward Sword. Is it something I need to rush out and play because it seemed to come and go without much fanfare.

Qualifying question - have you played Windwaker then? Because if not, get all over that first without doubt.

I've played all the other main zelda games.

Might as well play Skyward Sword then - it's not the best in the series by a long way, but it's still got magic moments and is solid enough. Don't go in expecting OoT level of awesomenauts and you'll be fine.

The ancient cistern is great and has the best boss fight of the entire franchise. I also liked the pirate ship dungeon which had a great mini boss fight.

By far the worst part of Skyward Sword was that stupid hairy twazzock you had to fight three times. looked a bit like the guy who had to hold his eyeballs in real monsters crossed with woodstock. can't remember what it was called.

the best bit was when you assembled the hero's song and it played the Zelda theme for the first time in the game

pitched a trouser tent at that

To be fair the part where Groose jumps into help in one of those fights was pretty cool. Just because it was Groose. He has the slickest pompadour in town.

I loved everything about the sandship. It's up there with my best Zelda memories. I say it every time, but if people were having trouble with the controls, I really struggled with the gold wiimote that came with it was completely fine with any of my other wiimotes. I think a few other people found the same thing.

Skipper's Retreat is still one of, if not the best, locations in any Zelda game. Nothing said, nothing to read, but desperately poignant and quite sad.

When all this "is zelda a girl" thing came about, i thought - maybe you can design your own link? That would kinda make sense as to why it looks a bit girly.

Actually i still hope they give some customisation options at least..

Couldn't agree more. I rate Skyward Sword as my favourite Zelda game, but my numerous failed attempts at defeating Ghirahim, and the controller failing to match your movements almost had me planting the wiimote in my TV screen.

Comments like this always make me feel like I played a different game to a lot of people. Never had any problems.

Behind-the-scenes clip just debuted at the game awards. Looks like Skyward Sword with a Skyrim sized world and bullet time :)
