Absolutely. I've definitely had the feeling that I've not done things the 'right' way, but as long as you're not glitching or otherwise breaking the game it's all good.

Exactly, I came to a Shrine last night that required you to use your magnet on a lamp on a peice of string to push it towards a wall with vines, burning them down and revealing the next bit, I thought fuck that and whipped a Fire arrow out, not cheating, just being clever

145 hours played, 115 shrines completed, 4 divine beasts freed, master sword in hand, I am now ready to tackle Central Hyrule:

Spoiler

I'm disappointed that I've only found just over 300 Korok seeds, I was hoping to at least find half before Ganon to max my item slots. I'll search Central Hyrule then take a trip to the lost woods to see how close I can get.

Have spent over 100 hours on this and have all beasts etc. Doubt I will ever 100% it (especially not koroks) but I would like to do the shrines. Pain in the arse trying to work out where they are now though. I haven’t seen one in absolutely ages so I am guessing they are quite tricky to find.

Might just sack it off and plunder Hyruke Castle and face Ganon. I’m not sure extra hearts/stamina would be needed when I can supplement with elixirs/meals.

Part of me doesnt want want to do it though as then I will have “finished” it. :(

Havent  competed the final set set of trials either. Is there more to the DLC besides that and the masks/armours etc?  I feel like I’ve missed something with the DLC.

Totally made up after finding the last Leviathan in the Hebra region for the Leviathan bones side quest. I've been scouring it for ages and was almost resigned to checking online when I spied something in an inconspicuous alcove.

I'm now going to dump 10k into a Fairy.

Okay, so I was having a mooch around Hyrule Castle and I’ve ended up fighting Calamity Ganon. I think I’ll beat him fairly easily, but what happens then, is it end of game or can I go back to dicking around in Hyrule?

I’ve only done three of the divine beasts, so I don’t want to get locked out of the last one, for example.

Once you’ve beat him the gam loads with you standing outside the castle. Nothing in the world has changed so you are free to ‘dick around’ all you like. :D

You'll notice a star is placed next to the game save name to denote that you’ve beaten Gannon.

Sweet!

One thing that makes me sad about BOTW is why does Link have to be such a psychopath? Pretty much every animal in the game gets murdered, and the monsters!

The way they sniff you and try to be friends when you are wearing the monster mask makes me feel really sorry for them. And I shed a little tear for us both when I have to subsequently hit them in the face with an axe.

That's veering close to the Edge why can't we have a cup of tea and a chat about the weather with the Cyberdemons Doom review.

I'm not too keen on the dumping you back in Hyrule with nothing changed approach, after you've beaten Gammon I'd have liked to have seen a restored Hyrule with the pink goop gone and maybe a few new shrines revealed that were inaccesable due to the goop.

Very interesting video, just wanted to comment/bump to encourage others to watch!

It is cool, but if you like this you should watch the actually GDC talk from which most of the information is cribbed..

So I didn’t kill Ganon, I got him right down to the end (I think) and then he started pulling some sort of hologram stunt that was beyond the ken of my drunken mind.

I spent the time after my reload roaming the castle knocking off the Guardian emplacements for springs, and was consequently forced into learning how to defeat Lynels - by which I mean I have learned one technique, to shield jump backwards and do the slomo sword flurry.

Now I’m back out in the Wild again, I find this technique is not so reliable, especially with the Zebra ones. I can still beat them, but it’s more luck than judgement and I use a lot of meals in the process to keep myself alive.

Is there a better way?

After 150+ hours, I can hand-on-heart say I've never killed a fox. They're too cute.

Headshot → Stun → Mount → Whack whack whack whack → Jump → Slow-mo headshot headshot headshot headshot, becomes even easier after you get a Lynel Bow

Stasis+

Many thanks! I am now polishing them off with a lot less hassle. The tip about the Lynel Bow was the clincher, it’s certainly easier to headshot them under pressure with three chances rather than one.
