First time I've been a bit stuck on this. Been circling around Death Mtn for a few nights, keep cathing fire. Is there a better suit than the Gerudo stuff I'm mincing about with, even with an ice sword cooler.

Have you tried the shops in Goron City?

Spoiler

If you walk the road up to the mountain you'll find a stable, in there you can get fire proof elixir.

Yes.

Best bet is to equip sufficient fireproof potions and walk up the mountain - not heat resistant (little sun icon) but actual 'do-not-set-me-on-fire' potions (have a little red flame icon).

2 or 3 from the foothill stable should do it; the owner sells them if you don't have the critters needed. Read the signs as you walk up the mountain - you only need them past marker #2.

There's a side mission at the first Goron settlement you get to that will give you what you need, so talk to everyone. Otherwise, look around Goron City.

Try approaching Death Mountain on the road. Try to ignore the spoilers above.

Yeah - when I first went up, I flew into the area from the tower, which was a bad idea. Much better to approach on foot and talk to everyone on the way.

But beautiful when it quietens down and you're tramping around the snowy landscape - my favourite part of the world to just wander in. Or shield surf down...

Reminded me a little of playing Midwinter, waaaaay back in the day; and, of course, the Phenandra Drifts in Metroid Prime.

I think the rubber gimp suit parts are all in the rainforest. I've only got two of them though, so not totally sure.

The incomplete outfit that's most annoying me is the Zora armour. There's a substantial clue to where the last piece is, but I'm damned if I can figure it out.

No, there's another bit somewhere else that's

a bit prone to thundery weather. Well, very prone. Constant, in fact.

Are you missing the hat?  I found it by chance and immediately got the trousers as a quest reward.

Ah, see, I was thinking 'the rainforest' was the area to the southeast, on the way to the fishing village, with all the tropical plants and fruit like bananas and durians. Where it rains and thunders a lot, but not all of the time.

The place I meant was

that thunder plateau to the northwest of the central region, in constant thunderstorm conditions, where you have to solve the shrine puzzle with four statues. I did that very late, after I completed the camel Guardian, when it was a piece of cake because I had the item that makes me immune to lightning strikes.
