The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Today was a good day.

Defeated the final Divine Beast, opened up the whole map and found the Lost Woods.

Don't think I'll hit Ganon yet, need to practise parrying the Guardians a bit more, try taking out a Lynel and then finding that thing again that converts Koroks into extra slots.

Really don't want this game to end!

I accidentally found myself in the Zora Domain so now on the quest for the divine beast (which I found before the Zora palace, glided down to see what the "smoke stack" was and got zapped by the shield.)

Went to find the shock arrows, defeated instantly by the Linel until I realised what you don't have to do...last time I met one was on a plateau in the south east jungle and it mothered me instantly there...

But then got very distracted exploring the top right region, those 4 islands connected together, then swung up a cliff and saw some swirl pattern in the landscape for a shrine quest.

Then the lightning came. Had an idea to drop EVERYTHING to avoid getting zapped. Unfortunately my huge pile of metal was a lightning conductor itself and the whole pile got blown to pieces. Went back to survey the damage and the boomerang was giving a strange glow - as it got hit by lightning and zapped me in the process!

Good time exploring last night :)

2nd divine beast done! I'm not the best at combat on this game but I somehow managed to beat the boss with only 1 heart remaining. Quite proud of myself.

I'm becoming really quite proficient with the combat now. It's just so damn fluid.

Are there any weapons which deal a significant amount of damage to Lynels? Or is it also very dependent on upgrading your armour set 3 times (or more)?

Not really. You could shoot them with a Guardian arrow but then they vaporise and don't leave any goodies. Lynels are by far the hardest enemies in the game due to their complete resistance to elemental attacks and huge damage they do. Using defence up and attack up meals/elixirs is all I can suggest.

Did anybody actually get stuck on the Lost Woods?

Spoiler

Been hearing all sorts of complaints about it take forever to get through but I followed the torches and picked one up on the way.... seemed straight forward enough what to do and must have taken me all of 5 minutes

They're pretty trivial once you've got Stasis+. It turns off all of their trickier attacks.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before (this thread is looooonnnggg)..

but nintendo should release the prequel (100 years prior) to this as DLC.

they could reuse alot of the map and assets-  but tell a totally new story as Ganon gradually takes over whilst Zelda and Link hold out...

ok it ends dark - but I don't want to wait another 6 years for a new Zelda like this...

Could be easy and quick to do. The photo memories and some cut scenes already have the artwork. I do hope we see some very sizable DLC though. Something akin to Skyrim's Dragonborn.

As for me I think I might have to leave the

rubber armour

behind as I've pretty much exhausted the area now... I NEVER do that in games! For items like this I always make sure I have them before moving on. It pains me, but I'm really eager to go back to some places.

Don't give me any hints though, it's okay. I'll come back again after I've been to another area. I've been caning this area so hard I must have found most of the Korok seeds here. Not as much as a blip from the Shrine detector either.

Don't think I've discovered them yet. I've only just experienced something I can do with all those monster parts, other than make elixirs. Just constantly being surprised and amazed even after playing every day since launch.

Like a sort of Far Cry: Blood Dragon... love the idea of that.

Talking of elixirs - I might have missed something the woman said when she first explains about them and gives you one, but how do you make them? Do you make them in the same cooking pot as the regular food? When I tried mixing elixir ingredients together in a cooking pan it just said some disgusting food, rather than a drink. Do I need bottles or something?

Monster parts mixed with critters. So a couple of butterflies and some moblin horn or something.

If you sort your ingredients (press Y) then all the food stuff comes first, then comes all the elixir ingredients. Starts with critters, then the monster bits.
