I went back to him at a time he was awake - he tells you where he's going to hang out - and he triggered the second quest when I talked to him. I had what I needed, so just talked to him again, job done.

Thanks for the hints, everyone. Now to finish off the Leviathan quest (done the two in the hot regions; one more to do; haven't seen it on the map, yet).

And I still haven't found that missing Zora woman.

With regards to the Zora woman........I was struggling to find her too. If you talk to her husband more than once though he actually tells you were she is! I only found out because I was wandering around the Zora Domain talking to everyone trying to figure out who it was I needed to speak to for another side quest.

Not played this this for a few days now, due to Snake Pass and the Neo Geo stuff. Last time I played I beat my first Divine Beast (Zora one) which was ace. Then finished off most of the stuff at Zoras Domain. Completely explored Lake Hylia and ended up looking for the shrine on the Dragon Shrine Quest that's in a Jungle. Felt very Tomb Raidery, but how Tomb Raider should be! Had no luck finding it and ended up getting killed multiple times. Finally switched it off at a stable near loads of rope bridges after running away from a guardian. Still insane the amount of variety you get with each session even after 55hrs. Need to get back on it but feeling a bit overwhelmed as to where to head next. Think I want to kit Link out with some decent gear but not sure where to find any. Oh well, time to explore! :)

Oooh, just did that jungle one -

look at the shape of the river he mentions, on the map...

Just afterwards, I went for a dip in a pond on one of the plateaus - to have a bloody huge, yellow dragon rise up from the same pool, right next to me.

I haven't gone near the divine beasts either.   That's the main quest and I don't want to do it yet.

It certainly doesn't feel like it and there's no real narrative link between them all - the narrative is basic anyway - evil thing, Link has to defeat the evil thing, Zelda is trapped. The Rito one is the one I wished I'd done first; it was my second Divine Beast. It really doesn't progress the main quest at all other than the odd cut scene. You really need to do that one first JP as you'll get something out of it that really, as others have said, is invaluable and makes the exploring the overworld so much better.

I can understand people not wanting the game to end but just do go into the castle area too far - going elsewhere and completing the Divine Beasts doesn't force you down that avenue at all.

I've just done the best side Quest so far. The Three Giant Brothers. It's near Hateno Tower by Taran Pass. If you have some decent weapons and a fair amount of arrows, it's fantastic fun and really mixes the combat up. I thoroughly recommend it if you've not done it yet and have honed your skills a bit. The reward is the usual but you get a lot of decent loot too. It was fantastic.

I did that

with just a crap sword. Climbed up those bone things, glided onto their stomachs, stole the sphere and ran as fast as I could. Completed it in about five minutes without killing a single one

:D

You absolute fanny. The best bit was NOT doing that :)

I remember the first time I went to Hyrule castle... I lasted about 5 minutes and got blasted to bits. Last night, full Ancient armour, ancient bow, 15 arrows and the master sword and I'm bossing it around the place.

I actually get to just outside where Ganon probably is and chose not to go in.

Im coming for you Ganon, just not today.

Do you ever find any weapons that don't break after two hits??

"The Master Sword is badly damaged"

"The Master Sword has broken!"

"Oh shit"

Always use the strongest in your arsenal. Save the second strongest as backup. Keep all elemental weapons for situations. Throw everything else.

Works for me. I don't see that many breakages camp after camp.

The WiiU version of this should be despatching from Amazon for me today. I think this is the first WiiU game I've bought in about 4 years. Its also the first full price game I've bought in about 3 years after a conscious desicion to try to avoid hype and save money after years of buying on release day and then by the time I start the game you can get it for half price in the shops.

The WiiU has mainly been used in the sitting room by the kids and that's just been to play the occasional game of Nintendoland and the WiiFit mini games. It was disconnected the other month as we were getting decorating done and has just been sitting about upstairs. I'm now going to be retiring the PS3 from my little games corner in the spare room and hooking the WiiU up just to play this.

It had better be worth it :).

I paid £279 for a new console to play this the way it feels it was meant to be played. Early days (couple of hours in), but no buyer's remorse at all from me (compared to the massive buyer's remorse I had for psvr in the first weeks).

So getting the Wii u version for ~£50 will most certainly be worth it.

I played for an hour or so before bed last night (actually, whilst in bed - god bless handheld mode). I'd finished the four shrines on the plateau the night before, but didn't want to leave just yet, so went exploring. Found the warm tunic so decided to head up the mountain, but didn't find anything interesting. Then I glided (glid?) down into Hyrule fields and just went exploring, with no particular aim in mind other than heading towards whatever looked interesting.

The Master Sword is made of sterner stuff (but still needs to go for a little lie down once in a while...).

Weapons you find later on can have buffs, including increased durability; some are inherently more durable anyway.

(And I so lucked out on getting the WiiU version for just over 30 quid, due to an early Amazon pricing error and a coincidental 'spend X save a tenner' offer; has to be some of the best gaming value ever, other than Mass Effect and Just Cause 2 for a tenner each when I first bought my 360. @memories - it's fine on the WiiU; enjoy! You have a treat in store).

Yeah, he tells you the 'worst case' - that she'd be swept all the way to

Lake Hyrule

I spent hours searching it - unless it's like my looking for that last bloody memory, or that eighth bloody heroine. Hmmm. I'm spotting a pattern here...

I should have gone to SpecSavers...

I bought it on midnight launch for £50 and i'm still playing it now despite  finishing the 'main' quest.

Best £50 I've ever spent!

Loving this so much, we've just moved house and are rennovating so there's no internet or TV and whatnot, it's the dream Switch scenario. Little sessions with a cup of tea here and there.

My constant exploring and travelling has gradually whittled away to where I now spend hours just noodling around on a single beach or on a cliff shelf which then turns out to be a massive Durian fruit orchard. Currently made it to Eventide which is so awesome.

Did you take out the bad guys (Lizals, I think) dancing for joy in celebration of their epic find of three Durians? I felt mean, but I guess they're the spawn of evil incarnate.

If it's the same cliff shelf as the one I found - right next to a tower.

I've finally reached the Goron village after well over 100 hours.

These are the best Gorons in a Zelda game. Their facial expression when they see a monster (or in particular the shopkeeper as I stood in front of him, on fire) is amazing.

There's a shrine quest around there that's a bit of a drag to complete (fetch and carry), but results in some first-class Goron expressions and dancing. I completed it last night and I really wish the game had a theatre mode for some of the cutscenes.

My100% favourite thing about Breath of the Wild now, however, is the level four fairy upgrade sequence (it's replaced Link's expression in the level three sequence). It's a perfect blend of eroticism and stark terror. Those fairies are easily the scariest things in the game.

I look forward to that. I'm already a fan of the fairies in this.

It occurred to me that Link ritually eats the bodies of his slaughtered enemies - many of which seem to be at least semi intelligent and worthy enough of a SJW rights campaign - and everyone else seems fine with it.

Someone needs to mod him into Bloodborne.
