Blood moon scene: press X, then + to skip.

Also applies to some other 'unskippable' scenes. Annoyed me slightly that there are two mechanisms for skipping cutscenes - seemed un-Nintendo-like.

Seems like they have two levels of cut-scene - 'X' for the shrines that you see a lot, and then 'X plus +' for the main cutscenes, so you don't accidentally skip them. But then the Blood Moon scene should have been a simple 'X' because you see it so much.

Yes, as long as you press AND HOLD down X you can skip just about everything I think.

3) allow you to easily identify people you haven't talked to yet so you can find shrine quests easier

They have red ! marks above them.

The easiest way to skip a blood moon is to sleep through it. Or go and see the Cass quest that needs one. Then they stop coming for 3 billion years.

In that memory that you unlock after finding all the others:

When Link falls & the Master Sword glows, 'speaking' with Zelda, is that at all similar to how the Sword glows in Skyward Sword when Fi has something to say?

Besides, the whole 'sealing Demise' plot point kinda seems redundant.  At this point, Calamity Ganon seems to be in pretty much the same place as if Demise had gotten free anyway.

Does it say explicitly she's sealed in there for the rest of time? :(

The spirit of Demise is in the Master Sword and the only way to stop it from escape is for Fi to stay inside it... although, having said that, isn't it being possessed by the spirit of Demise that turns a Gerudo lord into Ganon?  (I really shouldn't think about this stuff too much)

A fishing rod weapon would be great!

You could also use it to disarm enemies, latch onto sand seals, trigger switches, throw bombs etc. Hook a weapon on the end and then hold attack to spin around with it at the end of the line. Of course then they'd have to add code for getting it wrapped around a tree and suchlike, but imagine the hijinks.

Looks similar to me, I think that's definitely what it is implying with the glowing and talking.

Wasn't she just in there until she'd destroyed Demise? Which was supposed to take ages? Maybe like 10'000 years...

I think it's really odd that there's no fishing rod.  Perhaps it's planned for DLC.

Also, where is Tingle?

He's a lot larger, but he's off the East Coast on the map.

I loved the riddles.  A test of my wits & observational skills to go along with the more skill-based tests of the Shrines themselves.

I normally do. My brain normally works like that. But right now I feel like he's dangling a worm an inch above my gaping mouth and I'm just uselessly flapping about like a beached carp.

Man, the accordion bird bloke is thick as shit. In the southern/south-eastern region

Spoiler

On a cliff overlooking Lake Thingummy, which has a permanent storm going and a suspiciously shrine shaped rock, he sings a song like "when a bolt of light from the sky strikes the rock, a shrine will be revealed!"

Then he's like "well, I've no idea what that could mean LOL!"

Really dude? You can't work that one out?

One of my favorite things about the game for sure.

Question on the side quest for a pair of boots from Gerudo Town:

The quest text tells me that there's someone in Gerudo Town that knows all about the seven heroines; who is it? I've talked to everyone I can find, twice, but no mention of any bronze statue in the highlands.:

I know about the scholar in the house next to the 'canteen'; she told me about the seven heroines for an earlier shrine quest. She's not spilling any more knowledge than that - just goes on about the shrine that I opened.

I haven't been there yet but I was thinking Tingle Island?

I never found anyone.

If you've found the sword, the 8th thingie is holding it. If it isn't, you ain't found the sword.

Um, not sure you're both taking about the same thing.

The eighth heroine...

Spoiler

Can be found on the map if you look very closely. Albeit i don't think i would have noticed prior to finding out where she is.

Sword I found is

huge great monumental sword hilt sticking out of the snowy peaks at the top of Gerudo Heights - the big, flat hilltop with the deep groove down the middle and a Lynel patrolling on it. Probably the tallest point.

No fingers or other parts visible - size of the sword tells me she's a big lass.

There's just the hilt and part of the blade visible above the snow.

I liked that he has a different line of dialogue if you've already done the thing he's talking about before he tells you about it.

Oh really, what does he say?

I will not tolerate this Kass hatred. He's the real star of the game and you will all deal. Now listen to this video in its entirety and have a good think about what you've both just said.

I don't hate him! He's just not the sharpest tool in the box, that's all. He's a jovial chap and knows loads of songs. Funny that they all have the same tune though...

That's a secondary part of the quest, you want to talk to:

The guy outside of Gerudo town near the seals, (sometimes he's running around the outside) he will ask for a photo of the 8th heroine. After this you keep talking to him to invoke the next bit.

The 8th heroine can be found

In the mountain area he says. Its a large area but look for a 'V' shaped structure on the map

The 8th Heroine & her sword are not in the same place.  There's an extra bit of the quest related to that fact.

Looks like I've done the right things - just not looked in precisely the right location; and that asking about town is a red herring. Thanks, all! I'll tramp around a bit more.

The good thing is, I combined the asking around town with the other side quest of 'fixing the town's problems', so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
