Yesterday I decided just to explore the east coast of the map... Jeez.  That's 6 hours now just in that area.  Found shrines, loads of koroks and some great environmental puzzles.  Beat a Lynnel (YAS) and just had the best time...

I'm 110 hours into the game now... and I still haven't been to the western or southwestern most parts of the map and I've still got one final tower to get.

What a game.

Bet you're glad we bullied you into buying a Switch ;)

Finally did the shield-snowboard thing too, hurrah!

There looks like there is a couple of pretty decent shields on offer that I can only dream

of with my shit times.

Slight spoiler for anyone in that part of the map heading far north west on the peaks.

Spoiler

Aurora Borealis at night!! I love this game.

For those who have seen the Lord of the Mountain...

Spoiler

I saw the glow again this evening and thought, oh yeah, I wanted to go back there and check out what happens if you shoot the bugger with an arrow...

As I approached I skirted the hill and climbed the cliff to the side of the little pond where all the blupees and the lord are hanging out, doing some Bambi shit. It started to rain and lightning was coming, as I weighed up what to do. Oh go on then, I got out my three pronged Lynel bow, notched some Lightning Arrows and let fly... the arrows hit the pond and the blupees all screamed  dropping rupees everywhere. The Lord of the Mountain was frozen so I jumped down and slotted him again. He disappeared. There were blue, red, purple and green rupees everywhere, it was great. Then the Lord returned and I mounted it and becalmed it and rode it off the mountain.... :)

If you want to kill a Stone Talus, for non-elemental ones there's no need to do any arrowing, bombing, baiting or whatever. Just run to the back of it, jump, climb up, target the weakpoint with a hammer, claymore or other weapon that has you spinning round for its power attack, then press and hold down the attack button 'til it's dead which takes all of a few seconds.

Ah man, this game. I'm up in the mountain looking for this statue, when I look down and see some Bokoblins chasing something around, like I have dozens of times before.

Something's not quite right, so I take a closer look. They're hunting one of those snow rhinos...while mounted on bears! That's ballsy for a Bokoblin, I'll give them that.

Oh, and I bloody lost my Hylean shield; left it in the camel; must have dropped it fighting the boss and not noticed.

D'oh!

On the plus side, I found a location for an 'edge of duality' blade that seems to regenerate.

I just hold parry as soon as the eye turns blue, get it about 9 times out of 10. I always try to stand not too far away from the guardian either.

I love that it's the coolest animation in the whole of gaming.

So once the eye goes fully blue?.I think maybe I'm reacting too early.

Has anyone tried simply shielding against a Guardian blast with a Guardian shield?

Doesn't work you can get something which does deflect later on.

I should really get round to buying that outfit from the gerudo woman.

When levelled up it makes you pretty handy with a skeleton arm...not worked out which monsters it's meant to disguise you from since everything still wants to kill me all the time.

Tried shooting it? They create updrafts whenever they are close, which allow you to get near to them.

Spoiler

Tried shooting it in different places?

Spoiler

You can get fangs, horns, scales, and claws from each of the three dragons, depending on where you hit them. One item per spawn. The items are valuable to stores but their real use is for upgrading armour sets.

Thanks, I did fire some arrows at it and found one item. Wasn't sure if there was anything more to it.

There are a couple of chests out there that include a scale from one of them, too. As well as revlob's hint for uses:

There are a couple of side/shrine quests that require a bit of one or other of the dragons to complete.

You mean the Talus? Ive found three so far, and was also disappointed with the reward!

There are 40 in a variety of types and the loot varies based on which type it is.

They're best dealt with by using the spin attack on the heavy two handed weapons (assuming the black weak point is on their back). If it's on their arse then a spear or just standing on its back and firing arrows into them works well.

Remember in the trailer where link was running up a really narrow bridge? Well I eventually found it. I'm probably the last person playing Zelda to do that but it made me smile.

Try shield surfing down it without falling off :)

Has anyone found a giant skeleton yet that comes alive at night? Looking at my photos/compendium, it's a Stalnox. I can't beat them - they seem to be undead Hinox. Just as their HP bar is almost empty, daylight arrives and they burrow into the ground and disappear - I've found two so far.

Light a fire and wait for 9pm, then you've got the whole night to fight it.

Is there  a timing to parrying guardians?. I can pull it off on occasions but it normally ends in failure.

I just wait for the beep right before they fire.

I am completely flummoxed by the constellations shrine in Korok Forest.

The forest itself though

I had no idea with that for a while too but once you suss it out it's so obvious.
