And do go back to the person who clues you in on the quest, too. Tip: You'll need plenty of stamina - I did it with potions to replenish, but you have to be quick to avoid being kicked off. Using food to get extra (yellow) stamina in advance might have been better. I think two full circles might be enough, but don't quote me on that! Found lots of small distractions leading to discovering those seed things, completed a couple of puzzles leading to shrines, and have defeated new enemies giving me better weapons and new ingredients. Northwest of Lanyru Tower, North of Sheh Rata Shrine, Southeast of Woodland Stable. You'll be told where to go for this "legendary shield surfer", I would assume that this is where the best run would be found. Yeah I saw those guys a while back but they didn't say anything like that at the time. Popular Post Twinbee Posted March 24, 2017 Popular Post Share Posted March 24, 2017 Had an excellent couple of hours last night, deliberately not doing anything but just saying 'ok let's go this way' and seeing what adventures I get into. The only game I can think that conjured up a similar feeling for me was Shadow of the Colossus – I spent a long time in that, just riding around, enjoying the view, finding the odd sunlight-dappled glade, all that lovely stuff. The only thing that spoiled it was knowing the game was essentially empty, bar the occasional lizard or pear tree. The isolation was nice, but you knew it was just a case of triggering certain events. With BOTW, it fulfills everything I wanted from such a game. It's worth climbing to the brow of that hill, because you know it'll be worth it. You'll find a Korok, or an incredible view, or get into a scrape, or a treasure chest, or a knackered old sword. Yesterday I chanced upon the remnants of a castle built into a mountain. I was going to explore it, but then thought, "I'll just see what's on top of the mountain first", clambered up there, and saw miles away, a village with windmills. The castle can wait. So I just jumped off the mountain, opened my glider, and just went there. It started getting dark as I flew (had to top up on stamina a couple of times midflight), and all the lights in the village houses came on. Beautiful! Then I landed just in front of it, and a bokoblin twatted me with a mop. I know I'm repeating what everyone's already said about this, but the organic nature of the world is such that you have to remind yourself it's actually been designed. And the no-load-times is just incredible, really. You can jump off a mountain, fly for miles, land in a village, enter a shop and browse for milk and eggs with absolutely no interruptions. CrichStand Posted March 24, 2017 Share Posted March 24, 2017 Been playing this for a week now after impulse buying a Switch to play it. So glad I did! Had lost all faith in Nintendo after Skyward Sword and its poor design and dated gameplay, so never bothered with the Wii-U. Got burned too many times with the new Zelda being touted as better than Ocarina too. All is now forgiven! This is definitely up there! God knows how many hrs I've put in to it already but don't seem to have even brushed the surface of what it's got to offer having read through this thread. Mainly just been exploring around, unlocked 3 areas of the map, got a beast horse, collected 60 Korok seeds, done a handful of shrines and side quests. Enjoyed every minute of it! Finally arrived at Kakariko Village where I'm now stuck trying to find the kid you play hide and seek with. It's driving me up the wall! Not much I can say that's bad about this game really, pop up is a bit annoying, especially when you can't see some interesting/important stuff until you're really close to it and it magically appears out of nowhere and I have struggled with the pacing a bit. Still not sure what I'm actually "supposed" to be doing or where I'm meant to go now to advance things. Played that much Zelda I keep pressing circle, so selecting back on PS4 games now. Plus monsters weapons when they regenerate - so if you can find a decent location, you can bomb the buggers into submission from a position of safety. Or sneak up and steal their weapons from the racks. Otherwise: There's always a silver longsword lying behind the shrine in Zora town. I think there's a stone smasher in Goron town.
