Can you recommend a good starting weapon to pick? Is the saw the better option?

Saw Cleaver and Pistol is what I've mainly used. Remember you can transform the weapon with L1.

I tuned into this but I've had to turn it off, as my shitty 2.4 Meg connection stutters continuously. I'm only mentioning this because some streams seem to adjust compression according to bandwidth, and where they do I can get a more or less smooth stream albeit with degraded picture quality - your PQ was great, but the stream would stop for 2-3 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. No idea how you do this as I don't stream stuff, but there's a bit of feedback anyway.

It was getting to the point where I was reaching the final form pretty much every time and just had to deal with the new boss properties - having the boss not stagger in the glowy form really threw me as that was a big part of my original gameplan. It's also funny how you can sometimes bait the long range gunshot from a mile away and get him to run in like a fool

As for the secret bit...

I've already fulfilled the conditions for MP but don't know if/when I'll take him on because the boss up there had been driving me insane for days.

Great game so far. I think my favourite boss of the lot is still VA because it's just such a rush and set my heart pounding like crazy. The only boss I didn't think much of was ML because it's the only time so far where I've called in a player - I just didn't feel like I was getting anywhere and wanted it to be over.

I know what to do and when to do it, the boss just decides to randomly hit me with four attacks because why not. Reminds me of the absolute mess Four Kings was.

My kill, sloppy as fuck at the end as I hadn't seen the physical attack before and kept messing up.

The cane is brilliant, the transformed mode is used one-handed so you can still fire your weapon at the same time.

Plus the range is very useful at keeping everything at arms length.

Thanks for the input Davros helped a lot as I went through. I am guessing two deaths only by the point I left it was good then? I think I was being a lot more patient than I would have been, because I was streaming, which maybe helped?

You were driving me mad at first not exploring thoroughly, but then you did much, much better than I did overall. I died several times at the first bonfire (despite clearing it first time), several times at the big troll, again at the men with dogs, loads of times at the wolves, etc, etc AND I had to get help in here to find the first shortcut. You died once, and found the shortcut. Kudos.

Watching you play, I think I let the series' reputation faze me a bit initially. You were cautious but confident and it paid off. Then again, you will have to play that section again to find everything you missed...

Rom is my Four Kings of Bloodborne. The fight is not remotely challenging, it is the RNG that continuously fucks me over. Hey, the ranged attack you have been dodging expertly is going to hit you four times in a row killing you in the process. No need to question it, just accept it. Over and over and over and over.

I think the only reason I found that first shortcut, was I saw a big troll type thing in the distance and didn't fancy taking it on, so explored a little and got lucky with what I stumbled upon. I know now to look around a lot more.

I enjoyed doing that though and will have to remind myself that talking under my breath isn't the best for a broadcast.

Some boss names can be huge lore spoilers in themselves, and as for locations not everyone is too keen on finding out which locations they are going to be visiting well in advance.

Finished my first run last night. Took two evenings to take down the final boss.

Immediately started a NG+ and STUPIDLY tried to burn through Central Yharnam. Hit a mob and lost 120,000 echoes. I could've cried.

Polygon this morning reporting that some people are having the Official Guide arrive. Will definitely be investing in a copy.

NG+ really ramps up the Souls you get though. I'm on ++ and I lost 150k in a chalice dungeon last night because I was STUPID. I'd made a third of it back in 5mins in the same dungeon.

Does anyone else use the SD

stake driver

as their main weapon? I think I've got it up to +7 now and it's an absolute fucking beast. The transformed R2 attack does an obscene amount of damage and I swear that a 3 hit R1 combo does more damage than a charged R2. Quicker too. I have got my Endurance at about 28 or something but I can often get in close and hammer R1 without reply.

Until some fucker shoots me from behind, obviously.

My go-to weapon is still the sword, clunky and slow but absolutely devastating in its L1 + charge form. I am tempted by other weapons though, just for the hell of it. After I have taken down Rom, I shall purchase and try some.
