Is Tiny Trax any good ?

It's good fun. When it first came it out is was really very hard to even place top 3 in a race. They've fixed that since with a patch. Graphically, it's lovely, the controls are really similar to Pixel Junk Racers (in that you can flick from one track to another), but they also have a boost bar which you try and fill up as you slide around corners. For the dosh, I'd say go for it. It never gets old sticking your head into the water on some of the tracks!

Everest VR. I'm reticent to recommend it at £11.99. It lasts around 45 minutes or less and constantly leaves you thinking about how much further someone could take a concept like this, but I did enjoy it as an experience and the pay-off delivered. Might go up again this evening!

Am going to purchase a PSVR set to use for an 11 year olds party.  What games would people recommend for the wow factor that aren't too difficult to get into (ie, for some non gamers)?  10 mins then pass to the next person, but still fun to be in the room with them.

I have Rez and a few free psn+ giveaway titles to try, but not been following VR at all.

Alumette - animation . Free

invasion - Pixar style animated. Free

the reef from VR worlds - non shark version ( on the free demo disc you can download). Also had Headmaster on it and Job Simulatorand Tumble demos. (Need moves for JS) .Free

Playroom VR got a great game robot rescue on it. mario-esque in VR. Free.

Chainsmokers (ignore the name!) Paris video is great and easy to play just look at things.

Will all have to be closely supervised as first time users always wander away from their starting position.

Thanks for replies.  I'll probably try the demos but is the full Job Simulator worth it?  Am looking to get Moves with it anyway.

Is there genuine reason for the 12 age restriction for PSVR, or just Sony playing smart with the legals?  My younger ones won't be playing much but will definitely have a go.

Both my kids have played it (9 and 14) on and off over the last year, for between 10 and 30 mins length goes.

Never had any issues with sight, although watch out for smacking tables and light shades etc :)

Job Simulator has probably been the biggest success with PSVR in this house. Playroom VR is also great.

We've had a 10 year old and a 9 year old play PSVR with no issues other than occasionally needing to ensure the younger one didn't face plant the TV when reaching for stuff.

Updated headset on the way:

https://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/10/02/playstation-vr-the-ultimate-faq/

Is there a new PlayStation VR model? How is it different?
A hardware update to PlayStation VR is being prepared. The new version, model number CUH-ZVR2, features an updated design that enables the stereo headphone cables to be integrated with the VR headset and a slimmer, streamlined connection cable. There’s also an updated Processor Unit that supports HDR pass through, enabling users to enjoy HDR-compatible PS4 content on a TV without having to disconnect the Processor Unit in between the TV and the PS4 system. This function can be used only when the VR headset is turned off.

The lack of compatibility of the new processor box with the old headsets is very annoying. I'm still hoping that Sony will produce a standalone processor box replacement, but that possibility seems to be receding now. I would play my VR a lot, lot more if I didn't have to faff about with cables.
