Take the Star Wars demo carefully @gospvg. It's great being able to track TIE's over your shoulder while you're strafing a Star Destroyer, but if you're anywhere as unlucky as me, before you know it you'll have an overwhelming nausea droop over you. I wasn't sick but it's the worst non-alcohol related sickness I've ever had. I've not put the headset on since then and that was the day the demo launched :(

Will do thanks, not sure if I will try the Rez demo again or not but for now it has put me off buying the full game.

I'm going to pass on the current sale.

Don't worry, everybody feels a bit sick at first.

From your play list over the past two days you've done really well. You don't sound like one of the unfortunates that feel violently ill the moment they put the helmet on. You WILL develop a resistance, just don't push it. At the first feelings of discomfort, stop, it'll just take a few weeks before you'll be feeling nothing at all.

The sci-fi game on VR Worlds is going to be a big test for you :-)

Thanks I'm really enjoying it. Constantly amazed & in awe of what the tech can deliver.

Thanks for the heads up on the sci-fi game I may skip

that for a few days & enjoy something more easier on the eyes.

Rez is my go-to game for people who feel sick on VR - it's so chilled, yet frantic - there's not a drop of motion sickness to be found, if motion sickness even comes in drops, I don't know, I'm not a vet.

Rez is Glorious.  VR is glorious.  It's killed all other gaming for me, apart from retro.  Games seem joyless without it.

You're making a massive mistake.

The current sale is on for 2 weeks so I've got time to play the deno again.

Only concern is that I don't want it to put me off VR like happened to @Scruff with the Star Wars Demo.

Rez also is one of those games that receives a lot of praise from everyone but to me it has never been anything special. I only played it for maybe 10 or 15 minutes when it was released on the dreamcast & went back to playing Skies of Arcadia.

gospvg I felt similar regarding 'old' Rez, but Area X in Rez VR is quite possibly the greatest thing ever created by mankind.

Buy it.

From yesterday's experience I'd rather buy Job Simulator.

Will take it easy this evening & avoid games that may require any rapid movement like Star Wars & that sci-fi game @MrSpiggott mentioned in VR Worlds.

I'm not ruling it out totally but need to play the demo again to  make sure I can survive it.

A thread on reddit mentions a dynamic & standard mode not sure what I was playing will check the options of the demo if it had a choice.

I love reading about your new to VR experiences, @gospvg, but I'm also extremely disappointed that unless I've missed it, I haven't seen one mention of Batman. For God's sake, sort your life out! :P

Thanks, it's on my list & I know I will love it because it's BATMAN!.

I have lots still to enjoy from all the demos I've downloaded & the 2 games I've purchased (Star Wars/VR Worlds).

I've not been back to Persona 5 since I've got PSVR!

Yeah there's no reason to go crazy and buy them all at once.

I fully agree, pace yourself. It's just that it isn't that it's Batman, it's that YOU ARE the Goddamn Batman!

You've got some great stuff to be getting on with though. Enjoy @gospvg.

Well, this is good, isn't it? Got my headset today and I'm really impressed. I played Rez, DriveClub, and Thumper and they're all great with no sickness problems. Fatigue sets in pretty quickly though, so I'll need to pace myself a bit. I was worried about the resolution being too low and this kind of thing, but it's fine really, innit. Everything's obviously running on a lower level, but that level is fine. Impressed with the presence, though I am finding the fact that everything is SO CLOSE a bit claustrophobic, and there's been no moment where I've forgotten I'm wearing a headset. Despite the obvious efforts to make it as comfortable as possible, the hardware just isn't quite refined and light enough for my tastes. I can't QUITE let myself get lost in the experience.

Overall I've got mixed but generally positive feelings. It's bloody fantastic to essentially be in the game, but it isn't a game-changer for me. At least not yet, and I'm definitely not with the "I can't play normal games anymore" crowd. I reckon it's a very good supplement to the kinds of games we have now, but it still has a way to go. Hoping everyone keeps running with it for a while yet so we can at least see more of what developers can do with VR, and hopefully get a hardware revision somewhere down the line.

I got a £250 bonus today in my UK account, and with PSVR still being impossible to buy in Japan I decided what the heck, I'll import from Amazon UK again (did so at launch and returned after a week due to dead pixels).

It seems you can't buy direct from Amazon anymore, only from marketplace sellers with a mark-up and probably less consumer protection. My biggest concern would be if I get another dodgy unit, would I be able to return it as I did before?

I thought PSVR was still quite easy to find in the UK. Does anyone know how to exclude marketplace sellers from Amazon so I can make a backorder at RRP? Or can anyone suggest another place to buy that would offer international shipping?

Ah, thanks - I didn't think Amazon would list themselves as an alternative to a marketplace seller, so I didn't check the options in detail. For some reason, whenever I have bought from Amazon UK and shipped to Japan they have always discounted the cost of shipping before adding shipping costs back on so they are by far my preferred option lol.

edit - and ordered! After adding to my cart the cost before shipping became £266. After shipping and import fees deposit, £317. Can't do better than that. Suck it, crappy Japanese supply shortage!

I've had Area X in Rez on hold for the last 8 months. I cleared the original game in that one week when I had VR in my house, then I saved Area X for when I eventually got a new headset. Can't wait to finally see what it's like.

Can't say 100% since I didn't ask them but the playstation store in Den Den town seemed to have them in stock with a 1 per customer rule the day I bought farpoint there (the day it was released here). I've also seen the move controllers in stock a few times in different places.

Don't think it's as impossible as in was a few months ago.

Edit: nevermind, just saw you've already ordered from amazon :)

Just popped in here to recommend SuperHotVR which is out on PSVR on the 14th.

I've been into VR for years now, without a doubt SuperHotVR is my favorite overall VR game. I've played quite a few gun games but the core mechanic of 'Time moves when you move' works insanely well for this early stage of VR we are currently in as you dictate the movements and speed. If you ever feel fatigued you can just stop and take a moment to take it all in. I think it will adapt really well to PSVR, for one it is stylized graphics so it should run perfectly, the game doesn't require high end touch input either. Compared to the big budget studio games it might be rough around the edges but I'm confident that the 'magic' this game holds will shine through.

So for those that don't know, SuperHotVR is a true early VR milestone that I recommend any VR enthusiast should try and seek out.

This is a bloody good point.

A comment earlier in this thread mentioned Scavengers Oddysey on the VR Worlds disk. Can't believe I've owned this for almost a year and never spotted it on the menus.  Its really rather good isn't it.

I love it as well. For some reason it reminds me of Metroid Prime, even though there are no game play comparisons at all really. I can't explain it, maybe it's the atmosphere it evokes.

Leaping from one surface to another whilst blasting bugs is dizzyingly fun, is a pity it ends so quickly.

I saw this was up for pre-order. Does it require the move controllers as might have to jump in and buy them if it does as supposed to be a fantastic game?

Oh right, yeah I'm presuming all PSVR owners have move controllers but that isn't the case is it? I'd say the pointing devices are essential to SuperhotVR.

I liked it - It gave me a Metroid vibe too. It might be worth going back to if you've built up your VR-Legs now...

Is anybody going to take a chance on the mico-machines-like VR game that's out soon? I've not seen any actual gameplay from it, but if it plays as if the track is laid out in front of you, it could feel like a really cool VR Scalelxtric but without all the building and packing away :)

It stupidly doesnt say on the ps4 but after googling it appears it's move. Looks like I'll finally have to buy some.
