I will see how the next few days go but I expect by the weekend I will buy it, don't suppose there is a demo on the PSVR Demo Application?

Yes there is. But basing a purchase decision on the demo of Rez is like basing whether you like a film on watching a 10 minute section right in the middle of it. You really need the whole journey.

The UEFA thing was a bit weird - it was a great view of things and I'm sure it has potential, but it got a bit pixelated at times and I'd probably be more interested if it was used for a music concert or something. Of course, I immediately tried to throw myself off my perch before getting told I had left the play area...

So my intial thoughts after spending a couple hours with everyone getting a turn.

It is a very immersive experience & really takes you away, tried the PSVR Worlds Demo Ocean World & I was reaching out with my hand to grab items!

Kids love it but best reaction was from my wife who screamed "Oh my god, what is this? I feel like I am there in the cage!

Played DriveClub VR, some gun shooting demo & a music video experience.

To me it is the next big jump in gaming & after a brief experience today I am truly in love with VR.

Picked up Rez today and just had a blast through it. It's definitely a lot easier than using a controller. I got all Tera bosses, 100%'d a couple of areas, and got the white butterfly ending. Pretty sure that's better than I've ever managed with a pad to aim.

Question about storage of the unit then, I've left the processor unit plugged in but have unplugged the headset & placed it in a drawer below the PS4.

Is that ok or should I always leave the headset plugged in?

I have one of these

breakout box is plugged in all the time ( that is when I know I am going to be playing VR for a bit , if I know I am going to be playing HDR content I have to remove the connections to go straight to the telly from the pspro)

Yeah, I leave the box connected all time time and have it all neatly set up with all the cables out of sight. I leave the headset in the original box and just plug it in when I need it. Takes 10 seconds to set up and keeps it out of the way of the kids' sticky mitts.

I dont have a Pro, though.

I'm a Rift owner and I purchased a PSVR purely for Rez in the first instance. It's just lovely.

Of course I have also got to enjoy the other high quality exclusive content which makes the PSVR a perfect companion to my Rift. Farpoint (with AIM), Polybius and RE7 are all fantastic experiences in VR.

If you do, and this applies to all VR headsets, watch where the sun comes from.  You can get an ant/magnifying glass effect if the sun shines on the lenses and fuck up the screens.

Thanks just phoned home & ask the wife to place it back in the box for now will find a home for it later.

Can the breakout box stay connected & I can still play on the Pro or do I need to unplug & move hdmi cables around everytime?

If you are just playing in 1080p or 4K, then no, everything can stay connected.

If you are playing a HDR enabled game (and want to view in HDR) you need to disconnect the breakout box and reconnect straight from the PS4 to the telly

Sheesh what a pain!

That will get annoying very quickly.

Yup, it does.

At this point I don't care, I would pay Sony good money for a updated breakout box with HDR passthrough.

Day 2 experience played Call of Duty Jackal which was pretty cool but short.

Job Simulator demo was good fun definitely will be buying it.

Tried the youtube app in VR mode to view some 360 videos a mix bunch but kids loved the minecraft 360 videos.

Rez demo was ok until I got to a boss fight and part way through he ran away and I was chasing after him with the camera making fast turns I had to take the headset off it was making me feel sick!

Star Wars Battlefront & VR Worlds turned up today will try them tomorrow head is still a bit spinning.

Don't think I'll be trying Rez again hoping the motion sickness was just a one off.

Don't worry, everybody feels a bit sick at first.

From your play list over the past two days you've done really well. You don't sound like one of the unfortunates that feel violently ill the moment they put the helmet on. You WILL develop a resistance, just don't push it. At the first feelings of discomfort, stop, it'll just take a few weeks before you'll be feeling nothing at all.

The sci-fi game on VR Worlds is going to be a big test for you :-)

Take the Star Wars demo carefully @gospvg. It's great being able to track TIE's over your shoulder while you're strafing a Star Destroyer, but if you're anywhere as unlucky as me, before you know it you'll have an overwhelming nausea droop over you. I wasn't sick but it's the worst non-alcohol related sickness I've ever had. I've not put the headset on since then and that was the day the demo launched :(

Just played Chainsmokers VR and had a euphoric tear in my eye... that end sequence above the clouds, wow  I actually had my arms outstretched :)

The last sequence is very cool (both routes). Good VR experience.
