When you get your VR legs I would urge you to gove Resident Evil 7 a go - it's so immersive, and the jump scares get boring quickly - it's an amazing experience and needs to be played properly. The demo makes you shit your pants then feel sick, in that order.  The full game is wonderful, hiding , leaning around corners, legging it about.

Play Robot Rescue and wonder at how this has not turned into a full game

I was enjoying this, although it seems you need to be *very* precise with the grappling hook, until I got to a bit with some kind of platform that I think you need to move. The screen went black on me though, I could still move around as I could hear the movement, but couldn't see a single thing so I had to give up.

Just click buy on a PSVR headset, PS camera and the motion controllers on Amazon, it's turning up tomorrow and currently I'm feeling a mix of excitement because it's something I've wanted for ages and a sense of trepidation because it's a lot of money to spend on something that might just be a bit of a novelty.

I've obviously got Rez Infinite currently downloading as well as all the free games/experiences/demos. Is there anything I absolutely should get or is it best to give all those a try first (don't say RE7 I couldn't even finish the normal demo I found it so unsettling I can't imagine how terrifying it is in VR) ? I'm tempted by Bound and Star Trek Bridge Crew (is anyone on here still playing that?)

Go straight for either Ocean Descent or Playroom VR. Both give that immediate feeling of a state of the art amusement ride or some such, only in your living room.

Totally agree.. Resi 7 has been the defining VR experience for me so far.

Just seen on the PS Blog that Arizona Sunshine is due out tomorrow.. think that'll get purchased.

Well it turned up earlier and was pretty easy to set up, I also like how the dash seems to be on a massive screen right in front of you. Had a quick 20 min blast on Rez and it's absolutely amazing (although, and I think this has been noted before the volume that you can turn the headphones up to is really low). It feels like it's always been meant to be played that way. I've only done the first 3 stages, so haven't opened up the new Infinite stage.

Will give all the free stuff I downloaded a go later.

If you liked the first three levels, the new stage will make your brain go pop, especially if you're using a pro....

Give Polybius a try. It's pretty extreme in VR, but totally 100% comfortable.

Just playing through some of the demos. I don't seem to have any issues with nausea so far which is great. Thumper is intense, is it worth getting buying, how many levels is it. Currently downloading the Until Dawn demo... I don't think I'm going to like it.

I also played the little platformer in VR Playroom where you control the little robot and have to find his mates, it's just wow, the way the controller is there with you as well and you can use it to shoot out the ropes for him to climb on, just grinning all the time, I just wish there was more to it than the one level. Slightly irritating that most of the other games seem to require more than one player though.

Does Arizona Sunshine need the Aim controller? Also is it just teleport or can you move an other way?

Thumper was a must buy for me, having played the Demo far too many times, but I bought it with Polybius on the same day and my full game has had less play than the Demo.  I think the VR thing moves on really fast, especially when you get used to it and stop feeling ill.  Stuff that blows you away on day one can date quickly because the effect of VR is overwhelming and once you get used to it you become more critical of the games.

Rez is amazing, still after all this time,  But for me, Resident Evil and Polybius are replayable, amazing and haven't got old at all.

Huge day for PSVR tomorrow.

Arizona Sunshine

Free Farpoint DLC

Ancient Amuletor

Arizona Sunshine is meant to be one of the best on Vive, and made $1.4m in its first month, so super excited to try it.

Looks like it's fully Aim compatible too :D

Hell yeah. Can't wait. I even bought a Aim Controller to replace the one I sold after I quickly (regrettably so, now) sold the Farpoint bundle after finishing it.

I'll probably re-buy Farpoint as well tbh.

I don't actually know how anyone can play Until Dawn or RE7. I went back to try the Until Dawn demo again because I wanted to try out the move controllers. I got passed the bit with the girls at the start (although I yelled and was terrified again despite knowing it was coming) but I just couldn't stand it for very long.

Then as suggested tried the kitchen demo, lasted until I was stabbed in the leg, fucking hell it's just terrifying.

On the other hand Area X is probably the most incredible audio/visual experience I have ever had. And Aluminte (sp) is so unbelievably cute and an incredible VR experience.

I know it's early, but Arizona Sunshine is up, anyone tried it yet?

Got it downloaded, just waiting for my Aim Controller to arrive now.

Anyone else jumping on that Farpoint DLC?

I had a quick go at midnight. The starting menu is a bit weird as it's set up like a room, but the locomotion options are all set for teleport and quadrants, rather than smooth. You have to get to a settings cartridge, pick it up and place it into a machine before you can set the smooth turn/movement.

Once you've done than, you're good to go. I was using the aim controller, which visually tracked ok (no shake), but I kept missing headshots, even when aiming down the sights, which was a bit weird. It felt a bit off compared to Farpoint and Dick Wild.

it looks ok, if slightly bland. And I kept doing a 180 turn every time I pressed down on the joystick, which I hope I can toggle. It might be handy for horde mode, but less so for the campaign.

There is a 10% discount too if you've got PS+.

If you want something a bit lighter that shows off the Move controllers I'd recommend Job Simulator, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and the London Heist (which is part of the VR Worlds suite).

There's a bit late on in Arkham which I'm sure Seanr said it freaked him out and turned off, and while it's no RE7 or Rush of Blood, I thought it was pretty effective and certainly claustrophobic.  So while it's totally worth playing through, and very mild compared to "proper" horror stuff, just bear that in mind if you really hate that stuff.  Probably a good little "tester" for that kinda stuff though.

Arizona Sunshine is out this week - anyone played the PC version?

Looking forward to something else to use the Aim controller with.

Yep, I've played through the PC version twice on the Rift, plus some co-op. I liked it a lot, especally before I was spoiled by some of the more full PSVR experiences (Farpoint and RE7). As it was one of the first PCVR games that felt like a complete experience. At times it is a bit like a wave shooter and the mechanics are simple enough, it's pretty much rinse and repeat. But the core gameplay was on the whole very satisfying, and the horde mode is great fun. Voice acting is great and I like the brigh sunny nature of it, although I wish there were more bits 'in the dark' as they are the highlights for me. If it was cheaper I would definitely pick it up on the PSVR just to use the AIM controller with it. Also, headshots took a bit of practice and still occasionally feel off, but for the most part are highly satisfying, on PC at least.

I gone done a fucked up not grabbing the Farpoint bundle the week before last when stocks were running down. I'm definitely grabbing it as soon as I can next time though.

Have you got move controllers? Dual-wielding is my plan until I get my Aim Controller. Might be worth trying that.

Hmmm I may have jumped the gun on this one.

Reading there are loads of Aim tracking issues so looks like a patch is already needed.

Worked out at just over £25 with a CDKeys topup card and credit. Hopefully they can get it into a playable state ASAP.

The sooner digital refunds become a thing for Sony the better.
