Ok, I can't even start the CoD Jackal mission. I press any key to start, the licence agreement pops up, and it won't let me press X to accept. I can press B to go back to the title screen again, but then I end up with the agreement again when I try and start the game.

Showpiece games depend on who's playing:

Experienced gamer - Polybius, Resident Evil 7, Batman, Rez

Inexperienced gamer - Resident Evil The Kitchen Demo, The Violin playing man, Joshua Something

Casual Gamer - The Robot Rescue game on Playroom

Hardcore - Driveclub with wheel and VR

Showcase for me is ocean descent on the VR world's demo. It's immersive but doesn't require them to "move", so is highly unlikely to cause motion sickness.

Put my friend on resi 7 vr with full motion the other day (forgot to adjust it back to the weird teleport blink mode) and he felt ill within minutes.

He and his wife very much enjoyed the playroom game where one of you is a big monster smashing buildings to crush the other player's robot.

Keep talking and nobody explodes should probably come with a divorce warning.

There needs to be more love for Allumette here as well. Yes it's not a game and yes it's 15 minute long, but as a way of highligting how well VR can work for movies there's nothing else quite like it. I've had people in tears watching the full thing.

Yeah Allumette is an absolute must in any demo. Especially after something quite intense.

Wayward Sky gets overlooked quite a bit, it's really good and still up there with my fave VR experiences. I loved the puzzles even if they were all mostly the same and pretty easy, I liked how you'd have to explore by actually looking around to find collectables, peeking behind a bit of level design to see them. It has a great sense of scale with the giant robots and levels + plays with perspectives brilliantly :D

True, but I don't think it's as accessible as Allumette. You just plonk a helmet on their head and say watch this.

"cool"...

"look closer"

"what?"

"Move your head closer"

"OMG!"

What makes up people's "Show off my PSVR" collections then?

Initial toe-dip: Tumble VR, Playroom

Intermediate: Eagle Flight, Kitchen demo

Experienced: Driveclub demo, Rez

I need more games :P

Playroom VR is the one, I'd say. Turning around for the first time in the actual toy room and seeing all the little guys behind you was a proper 'wow!' moment for me, and the actual mini games have been a hit with everyone who has tried it, from a 9 year old girl to my 73 year old Dad.

I have completed overlooked this despite having PSVR since a week or so after launch. I'll rectify this later.

Play Robot Rescue and wonder at how this has not turned into a full game

Just click buy on a PSVR headset, PS camera and the motion controllers on Amazon, it's turning up tomorrow and currently I'm feeling a mix of excitement because it's something I've wanted for ages and a sense of trepidation because it's a lot of money to spend on something that might just be a bit of a novelty.

I've obviously got Rez Infinite currently downloading as well as all the free games/experiences/demos. Is there anything I absolutely should get or is it best to give all those a try first (don't say RE7 I couldn't even finish the normal demo I found it so unsettling I can't imagine how terrifying it is in VR) ? I'm tempted by Bound and Star Trek Bridge Crew (is anyone on here still playing that?)

Welcome to the VR party. I was concerned when I bought it too, and although I haven't used it as much as I planned, I don't regret it in the slightest.

I know you said you don't like RE, but still try and check out the Kitchen demo, and this is such a stock answer now, but Batman Arkham VR is absolutely amazing.

Grats! It's grat. Truly revolutionary.

1) Play REZ first - pick jaw up from floor

2) Then play the Playroom platformer

3) Don't overdo it! If you feel headaches, stop immediately

4) Enjoy!

This is so, so important: I ignored this advice and sometimes now, when i put the headset on, the simple act of donning it, the smell of it, makes me break into a cold sweat and instantly get a headache, before I've even turned it on, such that I barely touch it now. Some kind of shitty Pavlovian reponse!

Doctor Shark, the only thing I can suggest is that you play some VR titles with literally no motion (so TumbleVR, Tethered etc.) and that way you can prepare yourself to 100% know you won't be nauseous, and then after 3-4 sessions work your way up from there.
