PlayStation VR

I will let you know tonight but it would seem not :(

I tried the PS VR with PS3. The VR only uses for 3D movies in PS3 system. Connect your PS3 with your PC  via (the well-known) PS3 media server.
The built-in media player (Video) in PS3 can play 3D mkv. It is similar to PS4 3D Bluray, but not completely. I think it is enjoyabe and free

The PS3 XMB menu is terrible but the 3D mkv film will be played fine.

Why have I not seen this?  Looks amazing - out next month!

Played and completed this a couple of times on the Rift. Up there with RE7 as one of my favourite VR games. Just very, very satisfying popping heads...great voice work and just generally fun to play.

Unplug each time. It's a pain in the arse, but only for HDR games.

Well that's a pain. My PS4 is pretty inaccessible from the back. I know there aren't tons of HDR games but I'm currently playing through Horizon and the GT Sport beta. Not a fan of the thought of plugging/unplugging a HDMI cable in and out of the pro itself every time, wouldn't be so bad if you only had to pull out the headset from the PU, suppose 4k/hdr pass-through isn't possible or is expensive,  oh well. Does it effect 4k at all if you leave it hooked up?

The aim controller reminds me of guns from 80s Doctor Who. The ones that just light up when fired because they couldn't afford to make laser effects.

Ironically that would be correct, seeing as they'd move at the speed of light.

There seems to be a lot of deals around at the moment for PSVR with a couple of games for £300-325. Probably a retail push due to Farpoint but it makes me wonder if there's gonna be something PSVR/Pro hardware-related at E3. Too soon for a revision, but a bundle with new controllers and a camera for the same price, or a general price cut. I could see either of those happening.

there's already a PSVR+camera bundle+move bundle in the states for $499, maybe we're getting something like that

maybe they have a PSVR+AIM+farpoint bundle which includes the camera, but that's commercial suicide...

Thats the only damn thing I was looking forward to for VR. What a missed opportunity!

Elite is a bit of a monster in terms of running it well in VR.....maybe with some compromises (or improved coding) it could run on the Pro if they ever allow that. It is very impressive on the Rift but I've never fully learned what the hell I'm supposed to be doing due to time constraints.

I really felt it was a bit of a risk to buy the PSVR with no intention of buying a Pro and already owning a Rift. But I did it for the exclusives, initially Rez. And already I feel like I've had great value and made the right choice. I love the headset itself and apart from the tracking it really doesn't feel like the poor cousin to the Rift. Colour, screen pop, clarity...I find these all to be great. The resolution is noticeably lower than my Rift in some cases (which I play normally supersampled quite high), but in others (Rez, Polybius), I don't really notice any resolution difference. Touch controllers are way better than Move, obviously there is no roomscale, mostly 180 gameplay and tracking is nowhere near as tight.

Saying that, with the games that count I haven't really been bothered by that, in fact the improvement in comfort has been a big benefit. RE7, Polybius, Rez and now Farpoint have been real VR highlights for me. I still love my Rift, and it still gets playtime, and in most cases for games that are available on both platforms I will choose the Rift due to being able to crank the graphics. But I love my PSVR, I love the AIM controller and the exclusives so far that have appealed to me really have really delivered fantastic gaming goodness right into my retina...and that's what counts, right?

Star Trek bridge crew is out on Tuesday. Does anyone know if move controllers are mandatory?

Says optional on the spec, but you gotta all have your hands in the air for the warp

Apart from Batman VR what other games are good experiences?

Forget about Resi7 because I don't do horror games.

I thoroughly enjoyed Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin, but then I loved the previous game and love all things DoubleFine.

Job Simulator is good fun.
