I spent ages in the starting menu room tonight before I even started playing. I've calibrated the camera so that my positioning in VR space is perfect when I sit normally on the sofa, and as a result when an environment like the desk in that menu room appears (or as I mentioned yesterday, the pub in London Heist) it just instantly feels like I'm sitting there.

Just peering at at the bottle of beer on the table, or at the microphone, and seeing more detail appear, or looking inside the mug, is just the most wonderful magic trick. And then I remember "Oh yeah, I can look behind me as well can't I!", and it makes me do a sort of virtual jump every time I do and see a bed, and a kitchen etc. It's just a delight, and so convincing I actually wonder if I could cope with a fully HD look to it all.

Argos do a very similar sounding cable by Thor for £40.

have ordered and will try out tomorrow.  Sounds like a great tip if it helps sharpen up the image!

the amazon reviews are stopping me from taking the plunge

All sounds very dubious.

So this is doing a really simple upscale, without knowing any edge details, followed by a downscale by the breakout box.

That's just destroying data. How is that not just making the image more blurry? There may be a few cases where aliasing is improved, but that's only because the image is blurrier.

Well yes!

I've played SW Battlefront and didn't like it, but £14.99 isn't so bad for the VR mission if I can then sell the main game if/when I get bored of it.

yeah, but £8 digital, who cares if you never play it because its lacking in single player content. Its (a very short) X-Wing VR mission (that ends in an attack on a star destroyer) !

Ok.

So its like a 20-25 mins game. Where you fly and xwing in space. It is utterly authentic.

WOuld I pay £14.99 for it? Probably not. I already had Battelfront.

Is it utterly stupendous and will become your go to first demo for anyone on VR?

Yes.

Pete, is it accessed straight from the main menu when you load the disc or some sort of code in the box?

You download it from the VR store and you access it from the Battlefront main menu - I.e. you have to load up Battlefront.

I'm a Star Wars fan but, I have to whisper this, I didn't like it.

X-Wing scenes from the movies were so dynamic and exciting, but not on this game.

If a tie fighter flys past you you think, right I'm having him.

So you start turning.....and turning.....still turning.....wait till I turn around I'll show you the power of the force....still turning.....finally there, oh you've gone.

To make this game as comfortable to play as possible, the developers have made the handling a bit boring.

COD Jackel VR mission gets a lot of complaints, but at least it allows you to track and follow an enemy. Star Wars combat plays more like the old Atari vector game, you wait for a tie fighter to fly near your sights and then you shoot him.

How fantastic is Psychonauts Rhombus of Ruin? I absolutely LOVE IT! Another title to add to the list of must haves for PSVR but I guess depending on how much of a fan of the original game you are will determine just how much you enjoy it, for me getting to be side by side and see some of my most beloved characters in gaming in VR was worth the price alone. It looks beautiful, it's got humour; how it plays with different POVs and the scale of things is wonderfully done. It's short and not particularly difficult but a very interesting take on the point & click games. To me at least it was well worth it.

Does anyone have Pinball FX2 VR? Do you have the Season 1 table pack?  I'm quite enjoying the 3 tables that come with the game and I'm contemplating the table pack, just that £20 is a bit off putting, has it been discounted before? Might wait for a sale.

Yeah. But as with the Non-VR Pinball FX, I am yet to find a table that can match Epic Quest.
