Cinema mode? Exactly the same.

The difference is night and day on mine.

no improved PSVR resolution in cinema mode?

wait, is it rendering resolution rather than display resolution.

ok, obv, because the headset is still 960 x 1080 per eye, right? Is it 1920*1080 in theatre mode?

I'd say it's rendering resolution. Mine is much, much clearer and I can happily play on it. Before it was really muddy picture.

Tried The London Heist tonight. First time with the Move controllers.

Absolutely incredible.

I persuaded my gf to give it a go, and she immediately starting picking stuff up, pretending to smoke the cigar etc, without me having to explain it. Waggle lives! And it's glorious.

Then I tried Danger Ball, which was great fun, but quite vertiginous. Gave that 10 mins, then tried the Driveclub demo.

Wow. Now I want a steering wheel and pedals. Even though it made me feel sick.

I think the last time I felt this excited by a gaming concept was the Wii, and before that Mario 64.

There's nothing like throwing a McLaren or Ferrari full pelt round a track. It's like gaming crack.

Have you tried Rez yet? I cried real tears when I played area X

I'm a bit gutted - I simply can't play RE7, which is the main reason I bought PSVR. I can last about 5 minutes before I feel like I'm going to throw up.

Fortunately there are lots of other things I'm ok with, but still :(

It may be that you haven't quite got your VR legs yet. I've found I'm more able to handle stuff that made me slightly queasy when I first started playing, and Resi has a lot of settings you can tweak to make things more comfortable (walk speed set to 'very slow' helps). Don't give up on it just yet.

Haven't been in VR for about a month, and hopped on to try the Toy Box DLC, and the Joshua Bell experience. Man, VR still blows me away - it's just so enjoyable to be in these spaces and every new experience is probably going to keep on feeling fresh for quite some time!

Had  a go on Bound to see what the moving camera was like and I don't like it.

It might make the platforming easier, but you lose so much of that sense of being in the level with the lady with that fixed camera distance. Having her move away and back towards you, running away and then catching up with her, and hearing her run around your back and then pop out the other side feels magical. The moving camera makes it feels more like a straight forward 3D third person game rather than actually being sat or stood there , looking around, and observing her dace and stuff. Nothing like as special.

Totally agree. Having your character a fixed distance from the camera losses so much of the atmosphere. Perhaps it's to do with the story the game's trying to convey, a surreal feeling of fear, isolation and confusion. Well that sounds embarrassingly protentious, sorry.

I think this is the exception for platformers though and wouldn't really work anywhere else, a game like robot rescue is perfect using the follow camera.

Robot Rescue doesn't fix the camera to the character either though, you're fixed on a rail moving him around you and interacting with him. I think there's tonnes more potential for interesting platform gaming ideas in VR if they take that or a completely stationary approach rather than just bunging a platformer in VR with your regular third person pan around camera controls.

Managed to complete all the laps of the Driveclub Demo without feeling too bad today, so hopefully I'm getting used to it.

General question re. Driveclub for if/when I get the full game - the only thing that took me out of the experience was sitting on the "wrong" side of the car. In the full game can you play with right hand drive?

There are a few right hand drive cars, one of the Lotus', which is fantastic to drive, and a few Astins, but most of them are left. Unfortunately there's no option to change.

For me though that doesn't matter since the most fun car to drive is the Caterham 7 and that's right hand drive. My car of choice for all timed laps.

If you get the full game is well with trying to unlock it.

Cool, ta. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to buy the full game yet anyway.

I also tried the Eve Valkyrie demo. I think that's the third or fourth game I've tried with a virtual cockpit now, and I think Battlezone does it best. It was still quite a nice demo though, but very short.

Dirt Rally is the vr cockpit game thus far.
