Ha! She's not big on horror but I agree with her about the shark.

Besides, Until Dawn would come under the shooting games banner.

Thanks for for the suggestions @Wiper, I'll look into those.

Played some more today and got motion sickness from Batman VR. Finished it regardless. I wondered if was due to standing up so I think I'll do the Riddler challenges sitting down.

I got motion sickness a lot at first bit over a couple of days I got my VR legs and its not an issue now at all.  I had 90 minutes of Resident Evil VR last night and I can't imagine playing it on a TV. Its one of the most intense experiences I've ever had in a video game and it's surely replaced Rez as the game that will sell headsets.  Its incredible.

Another long session on Resi in VR. Totally comfortable playing that in long stretches.

Anybody notice the resolution fluctuating if you move quickly into a big room, takes a while to pop into full res on pspro

Yeah I was going to post about that. I had some moments today where the res dropped really quite low. Wondering if it's a bit of a bug to be honest as it was in rooms I was previously in and hadn't noticed. It seemed to drop the lowest when I first went outside..

Mostly happens on the big areas in the house for me.

Thats good to hear as I really want to play through Resident Evil In VR.

Already feeling queasy after completing Batman, I stick Resi on, just to how it plays using the headset. First thing I see is the table full of offal. Nope, not today.

Pretty much sums up my feelings about it too. For me its also already up there amongst the best in the Resi series. PSVR finally has its first genuine AAA game and its a corker.

I have high hopes for Ace Combat as well.

Wow, well isn't Resident Evil VR just a beautiful evil little bastard of a game. I've had a Rift since launch, and a DK1 prior to that. So that's just a note really to say that I've tried a LOT of VR games and experiences and it's pretty much all I play these days with my limited time. Been having an absolute blast with the Touch controllers, Raw Data, Superhot and Arizona Sunshine to name but a few. I have a pretty monster PC so run most things super sampled and at max or near max settings so there are some very pretty games.

But I purchased a PSVR for the exclusives and because I love VR so much (and because I REALLY wanted to play Rez and it didn't disappoint). But since launch I haven't used it much, what with the Touch controllers coming out and a lot more frequent releases on PC. Anyhoo, this didn't bother me as essentially I knew that would be the case...just pick up the exclusives when they land.

I'm only using an original PS4 so may not be seeing the game at it's absolute best, but of course it can't compete on some levels with a PC graphically. But this game (and Rez) prove to me that the PSVR is more than capable of creating an incredibly immersive experience, after all, just like with console wars ultimately it's all about the content. And this content delivers. Probably about 3 hours in but I can already say this is easily in the top 2-3 VR experiences I've had. The stealth sections in particular are terrifying....it looks lovely (despite the occasional drop to seemingly a lower resolution and the shimmering mess of the initial outside section it still holds up really well). The use of the torch early on is fantastic...more games need to be set in darkened areas with torches as this adds massively to immersion for me as I don't notice the edge of the FOV due to being in a dark environment. Also hat's off to getting this full release to run at a locked framerate which is what is needed for that level of immersion.

Anyway, it's fantastic to have a big budget full release of a game in VR. I honestly can't imagine playing it any other way, maybe not perfect but absolutely brilliant as an experience in VR, like having a door to a haunted house sitting in your lounge. More like this please....

My headset and camera arrived today and I'm sat at work getting serious buyer's remorse. Do I send it back and save the money for something more "useful", or do open it and run the risk of it gathering dust in a month's time...

It doesn't help that I can't see much on the horizon of interest and those retro(ish) games like Rez, Thumper and Battlezone don't interest me much. Three weeks ago I was arguing that a Switch at £290 was too expensive and lacked a decent release schedule, and here I am having spent almost £400 on VR and a camera. Does it feel like Sony are supporting it, or abandoning it like Vita and Move? Are games going to be limited to flight simulators, FPS and walkathons?

Argh! What do I do?!?

Did you get on with the new options? I stopped playing the game as soon as I found out the devs were going to patch it, as the static cameras really weren't doing it for me.

I bought the game on release and finished it soon after. I played a bit with VR when that got released and the standard camer which was a little bit annoying. You just want it to auto switch like Alone in the dark really...

This new camera though, the one that follows the player......not to my stomachs pleasing. If you go up steps it jolts rather than glides, it's pretty extreme.

I've been pretty good with any motion sickness-causing stuff so far on PSVR. I'm hoping this won't get me!

I'm considering jumping in, as I can't miss out on RE7.

I currently just own a vanilla PS4. What do I need to get? Headset, obviously. Camera? Move controllers? Even a PS4 Pro to see it at its best?

Camera is essential. There is a performance bump on the Pro but it's an incremental increase and only really noticeable at all on some titles. The experience is what counts. Move controllers aren't essential for Resi or a lot of titles but  Rush of Blood is better with them, and Job Simulator needs them.

In balance to the expense there is a lot of stuff to demo and software prices have fallen. It does really feel like a Mario 64 type leap when you do play it. Resi is brilliant in VR!!

I'm terrible for getting rid of things I don't use but I don't feel any need to get rid of PSVR. It's already got enough games that I'd want to experience again Rez, Resi, Rigs plus party games like Everyone Keep Talking. I've got my fingers crossed for Google Earth coming to PSVR

Unpack it, set it up and play Resi and VR Worlds. Then sit back and realise what a clever boy you've actually been.

Seriously - it's amazing.

It really is a box of delights. Psychonauts thing coming next month, awesome!

To me, as with the Rift, the experience of being there and the transformative power of VR is so amazing that it's worth every penny and then some.

The intensity of the great experiences (Rez, RE7, Until Dawn, Thumper on the PSVR to name a few..Elite, Project Cars, Raw Data, The Climb, Google Earth etc on Rift) is more than worth the price of admission. I think a lot of things from the PC side will get ported, we've seen a few already (Holoball for instance) so that should provide lots of cheaper content from the smaller development teams, then we just have to hope more big budget stuff like RE7 comes along as it really is a revelation.

Plus, it seems Minter is nearing completion of his title and I full expect it to melt my brain in the best possible way. What's not to love about that?

yeah the levels have been complete for a few weeks but lord knows how long he is going to tweak it/them for to get perfect brain melting action.
