Rigs and Battlezone both £30 at Argos if anyone's interested.

Those are good prices; 30 would be my recommended jumping in price for Rigs, even for single player only players. Battlezone I find a little harder to recommend over 20, unless you're up for playing it in online coop (though if they've patched the SP to be a bit quicker/easier I would more readily recommend it to all).

Didn't they already do this? I think I read it somewhere.

Maybe, that's why I wrote "if"! I seem to remember people talking about that being a possibility, but as I sold my copy a decent while back I don't know if they've actually done it/how much of a difference it's made!

Quite a few PSVR games reduced at Argos, Driveclub is £15.99, PSVR World's £22.99, and the ones mentioned above. Looks like a trip to the shop later :)

Was waiting for VR Worlds to hit £20 but will probably bite at that price

Ace combat looks nice, although potentially suffer along with the space type games were dogfights are essentially just endless sweeping in circles due to their being no land type obstacles around.  Some proper missions, bombing raids etc would help, not just shoot down 10 enemy fighters.

Dont think its got a release date yet has it?

I'm a big fan of Eve Valkyrie. It's a pretty thin offering and nothing compares to the first main mission with all the huge cruisers flying around but it's a great example of what VR can do.

My finely honed rip-off sense (thanks to Eve Valkyrie) is off the scale.

Quote

[Jackal VR] gave a better feeling of being in space than anything available in Eve Valkyrie (I'm really really fucking sore about buying that).

I'd still feel ripped off if I bought Eve Valkyrie at £39.99. It should be £19.99 at the most.

that's (a few of) the negative reactions, though, so my narrative is biased.

I'd say £20 would probs be about the point where I wouldn't begrudge getting Eve Valk. I think it's the best of the spacey VR games on PSVR right now, Xwing mission included.

The team behind it are supporting it too, though it shoulda had at least double the current amount of content at launch anyway.

Edit: Eve:V is actually my fave memory from the first few days of the PSVR launch though.

Ace Combat footage:

Looks awesome.

the thing about the current flight games is that none of them do the thing that made x wing or Starlancer so good. When you got behind an enemy they almost let you shoot them by stabilising and not flying around like a jerk. The you could 'match speed' and take them out which was so satisfying.

If Ace Combat leaned a little more towards simulation it would have a good excuse to use real world stuff to restrict what the enemy does and make things less of a constant circling exercise.

Would  love a mission builder in there too.

They do choppers as well don't they?

Currently playing through I Expect You To Die. It's a little jittery at time with the motion controllers, but I'm having a lot of fun with it and love its dry sense of humour. For those that don't know it, it's effectively a spy-themed lock room simulator with you placed in all matter or tricky situations and having to solve them. I've just driven a car out of the back of an aeroplane and stopped a bomb from detonating and spreading poison gas over the city (these aren't spoilers, just the missions). I'm not trying to sink a submarine while inside it. Great fun.

@Harrisown I'd love something a bit more simmy. There was an Ace Combat-ish game on the 360 that had you taxi-big from the hanger to the runway, I loved that, would be all over that in VR.

The only thing with this Ace Combat is that according to some posts on gaf, the full game isn't in VR. Hope that's not true.

I have a few family members due over on Xmas day and who are none-gamers and wan't to show off my PSVR - any suggestions on what's the best game? I think Keep Talking and No one will Explode seems a safe bet?

Xwing mission and Ocean's Descent have been my go to's.

Oh yeah I remember the wording at the psx event "vr content"

if it's a sizeable portion of the game then ok. If it's just a couple of dog fighting missions then it's a failure.

Put a mission builder in there and all is ok though.

Ive made a couple of mission for DCS World which has you taking off in a KA50 black shark in horrible weather at night time to go rescue a stranded fishing boat.

That was fun to do because I made it co op and it required some seriously careful  manoeuvering. It even had custom sound effects and radio chatter :)

I would say so. It's not necessarily the most impressive thing in VR (you'd get more gasps with batman or something), but it's great for getting everyone involved and passing the headset about in three minute intervals.

And I am about to do the same.  Is there just one manual?

yeah, that bit was confusing. Will cross that bridge when I come to it.

currently printing a second and third copy, and have purchased

to put them in. Should make post-xmas dinner fun, and a nice change from Stop the Bus.
