It was given a cursory glance at their event. Shocking the amount of time they invested in it. They didn't even say what games were in the sizzle reel. There were about 4 or 5 shown I think. I'm slightly concerned that this is going to go the way of Eye Toy and Vita :(

I hope not!

It's got so much potential I think, but then again the Vita did...

I would have thought it a bit early for them to shrug it off? Considering it weren't until recently that they really gave up on the Vita.

Maybe they have an event planned for it all of its own? Or simply because there 'large' line up was that big and rushed developers to push their games out the door there simply is nothing else in the pipeworks?

We are at the experimental stage. Devs are still figuring VR out, nevermind the general public. It feels like it'll be able to carve out its own niche. Gaming has been stale for years, it needed something like this to come along.

I am fairly sure that this is going to explode once games like Resi or MGS or COD are on it. Just give it time. Hopefully Sony aren't stupid enough to have bet the house on it going stratospheric while there are only (basically) a few tech demos available.

How do you generally play PS-VR games? Sitting on a sofa or standing? Swivel chair? Do  you generally need to be able to walk around to play them? Or do they all work fine with you sitting stationary and moving your head around or on a swivel chair (like Gear VR)?

Have used Oculus, Gear VR and HTC, but not this, so no idea how it works in comparison.

Generally sitting down, but odd one you stand up and stay on the spot, looking round etc. Or in the case of holoball, smashing anything in arms reach

It depends on the game. Some recommend standing, some are fine just sat on the couch.

It just needs some 'proper' full length games. At the moment they all seem more like tech demos or fun experiences. Which is great if you don't mind buying a new game every week but I can't afford to keep doing that.

With you on that, i've held off on buying anything since launch as I want a 'full' game to play. Spending £40 on a game that's going to give you a mere few hours experience is poor. I'm contemplating Robinson's the journey. So if anyone has tried it? Thoughts?

I think it will be fine once developers work out how to approach it. Don't forget, for many of them this is as new to them as it is to us. I think in the short term you will see devs publish experiences to get to grips with the possibilities.

Get Driveclub VR. You need it in your life......and I need people to race against online (still trying to convince Polmon to get it).

Polmon bought one as soon as he tried Joe's out in Utrecht! lol.

Battlefield would be good as I think I've got the hang of movement in VR as the Resi demo helped that a lot!

Or 1st person GTA.... That would be interesting aha....

I know Bethesda are looking at bringing Fallout to it so would be good if some of the other big game franchises make the plunge. I think the next year will be telling for it. But yeah Resi Evil is definately one to get. I wonder if the VR is multiplayer as well?

It would be great in co-op, but not sure they'd do resi multiplayer.

I've noticed these are still going up on Amazon Marketplace well below the RRP every so often - worth keeping an eye on if you want to get one before next year.

Nothing as insane as the £250 mine cost with the discount they had last week but still pretty decent - the only thing wrong with mine was sticker marks on the box. Everything else was perfect and looked unused.

Driveclub VR is the only game that really appeals to me at the moment.

Aside from the issue of big name games (i.e presumably PS4 is going to be getting a lot of them in the future) how big a step up is this from Gear VR (the only VR system I own at the moment alhough, as I mentioned before, I have tried them all apart from PS VR).

Im one of DC biggest fans, but in terms of VR I couldnt honestly recommend it as a system seller, the visuals are just murky and grim.

That said loads of other games do that job.

I would rather play the vanilla version and that kills it for me.  Out of interest why you like it so much? If you dont have trackmania defo get that

I have the trackmania demo, I'm not a massive fan of it.

wrt to DCVR, The sense of immersion is fantastic, It is the only game where the in car view is not only preferable but actually adds to the experience. The driving, with a wheel is peerless, you can judge turns and break points perfectly due to the added perspective and the fact you can turn your head and look at where you want to go (a basic requirement if you want to drive fast).

It's just fantastic. I'm looking forward to GT sport VR for the same reasons , not to mentions what comes next from Rushy and go from the ashes of evolution.

I'm a big fan of Eve Valkyrie. It's a pretty thin offering and nothing compares to the first main mission with all the huge cruisers flying around but it's a great example of what VR can do.

X Wing VR is going to be life changing. I hope.

Driveclub is alright! RIGS is pretty good once you get used to it. Rez is superb.

It is a lot better with the wheel, but I set much better times on the pad and I think the visuals are a big part of the experience.

I also didn't get Driveclub VR based on the demo - it looked really murky and soft which kind of killed it for me, even though the sensation of movement and the cockpit view are excellent. Visually Trackmania does a much better job although obviously that's a completely different type of racer.

I do hope Gran Turismo Sport will deliver, but there are so many 360/PS3 era racers that should be a breeze to convert to VR and look fantastic. I would kill for a Burnout in VR for example.

DriveClub VR is my most played PSVR game. Beyond the awful visuals it combines incredible immersion and a solid driving model. I love cars and the sensation of being in something like a Koenigsegg is unsurpassed.

I just don't get the graphics though. Why are they that bad? No one expects PS4 quality but its a hell of a downgrade.

Yes, although it's only been happening since I upgraded to a Pro; my launch day PS4 didn't ever do it.

Oddly enough, I don't remember it happening before my pro either. Hopefully just a software issue as when I turn the headset on and off again it seems to go away.
