Can't be done. I bought a HDR switcher but you still have to faff about with cables. Ultimately PSVR must be connected to your Pro and the fact is it's HDMI 1.4 only.

Yes it can

Ps4 pro hdmi to 2.0 switch input

Output 1 direct to TV (hdmi 2.0 = 4k/hdr)

Output 2 to PSVR, PSVR to another hdmi port on the telly (or another switch)

?

My mum came around today and had a go as she was planning to buy it for my 13-year old nephew. I told her it was too expensive but she ignored me and asked to have a go. She lasted a minute on eagle flight (she has balance issues and found input immediately disorientating. My nephew laughed at her and proceeded to have a go. After the usual this is awesome, he got quieter and quieter and after 20 minutes took the head set off and refused to go on it any more.

my mum is delighted as she'/ now saved herself a fortune (a moot point really as it is out of stock everywhere). He's gutted.

The switcher has four inputs and only one output.

So is a PS4 pro worth getting for vr? Given I don't have a 4K tv.

The impression I get is that the benefit at the moment is small but will likely be more noticeable in the future.

I have an unopened pro staring at me. Surrounded by other Black Friday shit I bought.

Divorce is imminent.

Regarding the splitter, I think there is a problem where the VR box has to have no power to allow a HDR signal to the other output.

There is a fix where you use remote power sockets to turn off power to the VR box but even though I can program it onto a Harmony remote, I think I'll give Sony some time to offer a solution.

If they don't I'll prob stick to connecting the VR unit and PS4 Pro to two separate inputs on my AV receiver and swapping the cables, made easier by extending the Pro's HDMI socket with a short extender.

got my mum coming round this weekend for the final F1 race of the season, and I'm going to make her try PSVR while we wait.

So, kitchen or Rush of Blood?

I'm not THAT cruel...

I managed to snag a PSVR from Amazon marketplace for £311 just now, well chuffed.

What's the cheapest option for a camera on the go?

Also, I've got an old move wand but I take it you need at least two for it to work with vr? Any games that only support the wands?

Oh I know rush of blood is, and that does work well with a DS, if not as good as with moves. But given the various two handed mechanics of the Heist I just don't see how it would work, even if it is an option.

Batman on a pad must be a complete headfuck. I can't even begin to work that one out.

So is anyone here successfully using their PS VR with a launch day PS4? I've plugged everything in get no picture via the TV. A quick google finds many peoples with the same issue - Seems to be an issue with the HDMI port on the console itself. Sony obv doing nothing to assist apart from offering an expensive out of warranty fix...

Mine was fine with my launch day model until I upgraded to a Pro.

I've had that with the Pro. Works on the headset no problem but no simultaneous feed to the TV. Not a huge deal as long as the headset is working OK. I do have a slightly convoluted set up though due to the the breakout box HDMI 1.4 issue.

No issues with my launch day PS4 in regard to PSVR.

Odd, old PS4 wouldn't work at all with the PS VR. Anyway, it was a top excuse to whip out the PS4 Pro I was going to return. All looks to be working fine. Expensive (but entertaining) solution.
