Just gave Robinson a go.

im on Pro of course but I wasn't too impressed with the visuals overall. I think they on par with Driveclub , or a slightly upscaled Driveclub if I'm honest.

I can see how people are getting motion sick as it does some strange things movement wise.

The left stick controls like normal first person movement and the right stick turns in quick segments. If you walk forward and look left or right then you start walking more towards that direction. That slight movement is a bit strange as you expect to just look left and right and not be sliding towards what your looking at.

If you go into the game and treat it like a robot walking around itll help yourself ease into it. Look at where you want to go and just slowly press forward. Eventually you will get more comfortable with it.

The biggest downside is that the hand is glued to the headset. This is the first game I've played where you don't have free movement of your in game hand and the tool your holding. From that perspective it feels like an old fashioned VR game (if that's possible)

I have to say that even before going into Robinson I felt Crytek had never ever made a good game. So far from the very early bits I've seen it feels a little lacking in personality just like Farcry or the Crysis series.

Still very early on but it seems like a missed opportunity with the controls as they are and the potential of the Pro console.

Those controls sound like exactly how Here They Lie controls. That's been known to make some people ill as well

Just played Robinson for another 45 minutes and started a new game.

The movement takes a lot of getting used to but once you figured it out it's bareable and I find myself very grandually doing more and more with less and less ill effects. I kinda hit a level of very very light dizziness, almost not noticeable but it's scary at first when you feel it coming on then doesn't seem to rise above that.

i might have been harsh saying it looks like Driveclub. It looks better than Driveclub it's just that the ground texture is so bad and the focal distance disappointing compared to other games in VR on the Pro now. Parts of it look pretty sharp and shiny.

i kinda walked around the start area for half an hour not having a clue about what to do until it opened up a path way.

It was quite a special moment seeing the first truly huge dinosaur.

If this game gets move support then it'll be really good I think. Right now It's a little bit like playing batman with the dualshock, kinda not how it's meant to be. In fact it's stupid there's no move support as it would open up so many things. The scanning biology mechanic is actually satisfying ,strangely.

i'm actually looking forward to going back in after my shower.

The Rush of Blood demo was fun, but I kind of got distracted turning the controller over and twisting my guys' arms together :D

Also went back to Rez and I'm pretty sure my scores are better than they ever were - still no perfect shotdown rate, but 100% on the first four and 98% on the fifth...

Here's some random Robinson footage. I do quite like this game but it's often not obvious what you have to do and how you have to do it, hence the stumbling around in this over long video I captured.

its does some things I thought would be suicide in VR but they're not as painful as they might seem. From sickness point of view I'm holding up exceptionally well.

The VR tracks in Trackmania are over a bit too quickly for my liking... Not the actual tracks themselves, I understand how Trackmania works, but there are only forty of them and I gold starred them all in about two hours.

I know there's the green star too and I get that I've only bought it because of VR and that it was a free update to the full game... So I shouldn't really be moaning, should I?

Ignore me, it is a fun experience, but I will be paying the normal game too, to get my money's worth.

yeah, I don't feel so hard done by, as I already owned the game, and hadn't played it much after hitting a wall trying to get golds.

but this, I got terrys*, and a couple of greens, and it gave me moments like this

*all gold

Yes, I couldn't resist the chance to earn manly points but it's looking like my first PSVR flop so far.

The first three stages aren't scary or much fun. All you do is stand on the spot and wait for things to shamble towards you from all directions. The aiming doesn't feel as reliable as Rush of Blood's either.

Buyer's remorse at 90% but there remains the hope of it getting better because of reviews like this 8/10 one for the Vive version.

http://uploadvr.com/brookhaven-experiment-review-htc-vive-horror/

As you can see, though, my first impressions all echo the negative bullet points at the top.

On the plus side, it must be impossible to get motion sickness with this one.

Ive got Brookhaven on my Vive and I love it.  Possibly the less precise tracking of the moves, lack of free 360 degree movement and downgrade of visuals make it worse.

How does it cope with 360 movement? Is there a button to snap the view 180 degrees?

The other thing about Trackmania is that when you are going upside down and stuff you really have to strain your neck upwards to see where you are going, feels slightly unnatural, albeit I've never driven a car upside down so don't know how it would feel naturally... :P

Can anyone confirm for me please - instead of buying Driveclub VR for £29, I could just buy the season pass for £9,99 for the disc based copy I have here, then this will unlock the VR upgrade from the store for £15.99 - saving me 4 quid but also giving me the season pass content that I wouldn't have if I just bought the VR disc.  Am I right?

The VR upgrade is in the store with no price, saying I can't download it as I don't own the season pass. I bet a fair number of people have done this, and will be surprised to learn they still cant do the VR bit.

Buy the key for 26quid ish from cdkeys.

And the main game is MUCH harder than the VR, I'm having to actually control my speed! Wish I could do these tracks in VR instead.
