For all those new to trackmania make sure you also try the non VR tracks. Also it's my favourite game for VR cinema screen mode as the reduction in resolution sort of adds scan lines and gives it a old skool sega blue sky's look.

I had 5 mins on the VR ones last night and can already see this will be my go to single player VR game.

eagle flight does look really good as well though

Having tried the VR demo of Trackmania last night im now kicking myself for not getting it sooner.... oh well there goes another £25!

Shame you cant play it in 1st person all the time though

Yeah its great.

In response to the short tracks.  Trackmania is all about time attack and the spectacle of the courses.  They get really tricky (single player anyway, not spent enough time on VR) and as such being able to restart quickly when you make a mistake and short easy to memorise tracks are what its all about.  You will find 30 seconds is more than enough as you get into it.  In the main game you finish each area with a three lap race around a circular track, although this seems to be missing from VR for now.

40 VR tracks and the main game is a solid package.  As I said previously, make sure you try out the single player game in cinema mode, it works really well.

Completely agree on playing Trackmania in cinema mode. Gave it a try while I waited for the VR demo to download and it's really great looking and you get real sense of scale playing it on a large screen.

The Brookhaven Experiment has been released today. £14.99 on the store.

Last I checked on Steam it had good feedback.

Needs Moves though I think.

Looks like another to add to the list:

Good timing too as I picked up one of these from a carboot at the weekend for a quid!

Man, those Eagle Flight videos look good, but my dilemma is whether to buy on the Rift (as it will look nicer) or PSVR (that will hopefully have more people online....apparently the Rift version is a bit of a wilderness with no-one ever in multiplayer...unless it has cross play? Does anyone know?)

I've got a copy of Robinson now. Looking forward to trying it out tonight (especially so I can compare it to the Pro version tomorrow) Anyone else got it?

Also can everyone please stop tempting me with Eagle Flight. This thread is a fucking nightmare.

Its noticeable but you soon get used to it. Though I would love the option to reduce it patched in, just to see how strong your VR legs need.

Those mentioning the stomach dropping experience. Its gone completely for me in this game, but to be honest it stopped happening on UD:ROB after a few days play as well. Which makes me sad, cos I love that feeling.

I should have it by launch day. I ordered from Base.com, hardly anywhere is stocking it.

To be honest i'm not expecting much, or even to like it, I know so little about what it is. I do know it looks pretty and will hopefully show off the Pro when it comes tomorrow.

I plan on seeing how I get on with it then maybe selling it to one of you guys for a nice fair price. £30 delivered. Who knows I might absolutely love it.....

How are people finding the 'comfort' settings in Eagle Flight (which to me looks a bit like tunnel vision which kind of defeats the purpose of having the lovely huge FOV that VR gives). It's the only thing putting me off it at the moment.

I find it annoying and hope it gets patched out, also requested this @ Ubisoft.

I just plugged my Headset directly into the processor unit bypassing the huge cable as I was just playing Trackmania and was close enough to the desk, not sure whether I'm on crack or whether the response seemed faster and the picture was cleaner...

Could I be cheeky and pop myself down for first refusal if you do decide to pass it on?.. I'm curious to try it out but certainly not in any rush.

Just got my PSVR today, setting it up now. Plumped for Rez, Thumper and Keep Talking right off the bat (with the free VR update for Trackmania too).

Can someone explain to me what Eagle Flight is, and how the controls work please? I've watched a couple of videos and looked at the store entry, but couldn't wrap my head around it. I think it's one of the only VR games I haven't tried yet (other than the newer ones like Robinson whatsitcalled).

Anyway, I'm going to dive in :D

The controls are inspired.. you just look in the direction you want to fly, tilting your head banks you left/right and L2/R2 speed you up and slow you down. That's all there is to it and it works an absolute treat.

The game itself has three main modes. Single player takes you on a pilot-wings inspired trip around a beautifully stylised version of Paris. With the usual Ubisoft collectibles thrown in for good measure.

Free mode is unlocked from the start  and lets you explore at your leisure

Multiplayer is a 3v3 version of capture the flag.. it's lightweight in terms of options but exhilarating to play. Also as bizarre as it sounds it really reminds me of Midtown Madness for some reason.
