Really hope Sony find a solution to the drift in cinematic mode (any time you're not viewing an actual VR game).  Thinking about it, does anyone here have a unit that DOESNT drift off to one side (mine is to the left).

Also, Thumper is amazing.

Sadly going to sell my wheel. It's the Thrustmaster T150. Love it but never get the chance to use it. Still have the box.

£50 if you can pick up from SE London. I thought I'd just put it here before trading. VR deserves first dibs.

Played some more Rez tonight....will I ever move to anything else? I really want to pick up Wayward Sky as I loved the demo, but will wait until I've finished Bound, which is quite lovely. Also, I very much like Rush of Blood in small bursts but it makes me long for something more akin to Virtua Cop or Ghost Squad in pacing. In fact, Virtua Cop remade for VR would simply be sublime.

Move never had any drift in games, but never tried cinematic mode. Is that just playing a non-VR game with the headset on?

I'd say it's more like 30% of VR games can use Move controllers, but then I'm ignoring the truly lazy shit like Carnival Games and that banana shooting game. Either way, it is ridiculous that they're so hard to get hold of, because even though the majority don't need/benefit from them, those games that do make use of them warrant it.

Of the games I've played, this is how they split:

Don't use Move:

Battlezone

Bound

Driveclub

Eve: Gunjack

Eve: Valkyrie

Headmaster

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Playroom VR

RIGS

Superhypercube

Tethered

Thumper

Can Use Move:

Batman VR (strongly recommended)

Harmonix VR (needed for one of its games)

Loading Human

Rez (though I think it's far, far better without)

Tumble (strongly recommended)

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

VR Worlds (strongly recommended)

Wayward Sky

Having had a blast with the PSVR over the weekend, I'm left wanting full size games.

I honestly loved the Kitchen tech demo, it was perhaps the best showcase for the tech for me. Playing RE7 in VR should be intense if the Kitchen demo is anything to go by.

Of all the other stuff I tried, the Robot Rescue demo in Playroom VR is perhaps what I'd most like to be turned into a full game. I loved every second of it. The vibrant colours, the charming robots, the sound, the presentation...everything was just pure joy. It was like a mix between Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot where the VR tech didn't feel like a gimmick.

I'm really hoping VR will kick off, because there are so many possibilites with this tech.

This is the video that sold me Eagle Flight:

And this is the one that just made me cancel it:

Look at how reduced the visible screen becomes when you're turning or slowing down and there isn't an option to turn it off, I know they've done it in an effort to reduce nausea BUT it's quite misleading not showing any of that in the actual gameplay trailer <_< Just wish it had a demo so I oculd tell if it's as distracting as it looks.

Yeah, the screen reduction is exactly the point I was making. Its very odd that they don't have an option to turn it off. It really does remove a lot of the "VR feel" as you lose much of your peripheral vision. Perhaps they'll patch it? I'm assuming its not a technical challenge?

On the plus side my eldest daughter vomits at the mere word "VR" however she can play this without any issue and loves it so I guess they got that part right.

Obviously I'm guessing, but keep in mind that on a widescreen ratio like that it's displaying way more than you get to see in the headset. I would assume that with the rounded lenses that it appears more like a vignette than the massive black areas shown in the video.

Atleast I hope that's the case as I'd like to try this at some point.

Its a pretty big black border that kicks in. It seems to be a mask that's used when there's a lot of geometry at the peripheral, particularly when your turning or going in between walls. You can see it when he flies up into the sky- no real mask as there's little to make you feel motion but when he dives back down and starts turning that's when it kicks in,

Having said that it really is a nice game.

Rigs does the same thing. But you can turn it off. It almost spoils the immersion with it on. I can see why they have it as an option but to force it on people is very odd. I won't be buying Eagle flight if I can't turn the screen reduction off.

If I had a twitter account I'd ask them if they plan on patching it. I don't have one so can't. This forum is all the social interaction I need/ can take/ stomach. Perhaps someone can give it a try?

There is a lovely bit right at the beginning of the single player that's similar to Batman in that it does something VR does particularly well and is very immersive. My kids have watched/ experienced that one section over and over (lasts about 30 seconds) For those interested:

Spoiler

You are "born" as a chick and start with darkness until a chink of light breaks through and you hatch out of your egg only to look up and see two "huge" parent eagles looming over you and your sibling beside you. A real awww moment. It reminded me of Batman where you are young Bruce and cower behind your parents

Edit. A poor attempt at humour with the Eagle/ Twitter/ Tweet and no one takes offence at how terrible it is. I am disappoint.

Yup, basically when you're doing anything other than playing a proper VR game. I'm not talking about tracking of the pads or controllers, talking about the display of the screen inside the headset (at Medium and Large sizes, obvs).
