I am also thinking of getting Keep Talking and No-one Explodes but do I need to print off some manuals for it first? I am at work so can print them before I go home if required but won't be able to print them at home.

You don't have to, but it's a bit easier. Cracking game though.

I spent 20 minutes on the grabber machine in Playroom VR yesterday, and enjoyed it more than some full priced games. That "space" is just brilliant.

Same here, more like 40 minutes though.

im actually trying to unlock all the toys because it's fascinating to see them all

oh yeah there's a trophy if you

Spoiler

Look up at the big monsters through the glass roof and get him to look at you. I only noticed he was there the other day,was a bit of a Wtf moment

Errr I'm counting on it. I have a 2tb and it's liberating and it'll be the first thing I do.

I *think* that each hard drive is tied to each console, so while you can use it you'll have to reformat it first

Yep that's right.

since firmware 4.00 it is now possible to transfer everything between 2 PS4s using an rj45 cable.

that would be really handy but I want to the 2tb in the pro.

i might just transfer everything and then at a latter date swap the hard disk again.

if only you could just swap it .

I dunno if it was here that I read it but I'm gonna guess the PS4 Pro isn't going to fix that distance blur, kinda like heat haze effect you see in most games and is very noticeable in Robot Rescue from what I've read that's down to the fixed focus of the PSVR which is set at around 8ft regardless of how your eyes are trying to focus in on near or distant, such as the dashboard dials in Drive Club or most VR renders of the controllers. Again from what I've read a VR system would have to use eye tracking for you to be to be able to shift your focus as you would in real life and obviously that means PS4 Pro isn't going to be able to change the hardware configuration of the PSVR headset   I just wanted to point that out to anyone who might be under the impression that a Pro would fix such issues.

The focal point of 8ft doesn't mean that you can't focus on things in-game closer or further away than that! The increase of rendering resolution of VR games will absolutely mean that things will be clearer all round. A lot of VR games at the moment are way below rendering native 1080p and are being upscaled to the headset's display meaning they are quite blurry (i.e. Driveclub)

Well each eye is getting 960x1080 so yeah they don't have enough resolution to work with but some games definitely look better than others. I guess it's about finding what the consumer finds acceptable.

its funny when you take the headset off. It like putting a pair of glasses on and going "holy shit" in the real world as everything becomes super crisp again.

I'd love to know what resolution each VR game is rendering at. I reckon some titles are probably as low as 480p.

Have Digital Foundry looked into this?

That's how I describe PSVR to people. It's an amazing experience but be prepared for 480p. They then put the headset on and get their minds blown anyway.

Call of Duty Jackal Assault is a nice looking game though. Bit of a step up already.

interesting stuff about the pro.

Apparently PSvr renders out (or can when the game is) a full 1080p but then in post it's sent to the headset as a warped image effectively erasing some of the stuff the PlayStation  has rendered. The end result is a binocular kinda view that is of course then unwrapped when we look through the lenses.

The PlayStation pro is able to do something that will effectively scale the resolution so the middle parts are higher resolution while the further you get to what would be you peripheral vision is rendered at a lower resolution. This basically means the stuff your actually looking at should be sharper while the stuff your not focusing on isn;t taxing the system as much.

'That's a shit explanation of it.

Apparently second gen PSVR games will see noticeable leap when they take advantage of this.

i just remembered something. Isn't Dreams getting a Beta this year?

Received Battlezone in the mail today and just played through a campaign (12 zones until I got killed). It's a great game, not only does the whole presentation fit perfectly but it's a genuinely great arcade shooter style game to play too. It's fast and violent and exciting, with the AI pretty sharp and brutal. Being able to look around you improves the genre by about a million. Definitely recommended for those on the fence.

Wow the controls and visuals on Jackal Assault are superb. 44 kills so far, absolutely hammers Eve Valkyrie for immersion. if XWing Mission matches that, woohoo.

I need all my games to be in VR now :(

Yeah I thought the same.. thought it may be a bit lacking a little bit visually but controls wise I loved it. Especially banked cornering whilst doing a roll and looking towards the direction you are moving.. just feels SO right!!

Just want a full game of it now.

This is awesome I've got 3 hours of VR ahead of me with the CoD jackal demo a long stint of hooning around in Driveclub then top it off with some Rez Area X.

It's been forever since I've been this excited to be playing I feel like a kid!

Has anyone had any problems getting past the licence agreement screen on Jackal Assault? It doesn't recognise me pressing X.

Yeah, that happened to me. Eventually got past it by going to dashboard then back into the menu where pressing X finally worked. Strange bug though.
