I didn't see this posted yet but apologies if I missed it - Sony comment on drift:

So a few people have mentioned drift kicking in.  What do you mean by that?  You end up slowly "facing" the wrong direction?

Exactly.

Doesnt happen everytime though.  I think it's something to do with the camera...

Yeah, area x is fucking mind blowing.

Anyone else tried doing the trans vibration thing? I slipped a playstation move into each of my back pockets to give it a go. They've got a real meaty rumble those moves, but I found it distracting rather than experience enhancing. A move in each hand with one just pumping along to the music worked better I thought.

EDIT: yeah trans vibration

Showed people some more of the DC demo and Rez today, and it's great seeing the reactions (no motion sickness from anyone yet... :) ) You can enter travelling mode on Area 1 of Rez and someone unfamiliar with the game can still pick it up - besides, looking to aim makes it even more immediate.

And yes, Area X is still great even when replaying. I went through it again recently to try and get some screenshots and it's just as mesmerising as before, and that kind of cheese could probably be found in my music library so I'm not bothered by it. :D

Just been reading on reddit about a tip for blurriness. Some guy went through the setup via the PS4 menus that measures the distance between your eyes. It wants you to look at the camera while 70cm away. Seems that carefully measuring that 70cm helps a lot in getting rid of a blurry image.

Go to PS4 settings then go to Devices and pick the VR menu option.

it'll take a picture of your face, take time to measure 70cm from the camera. Look at the red dot on the camera and take the picture then place the crosses in the centre of your pupils.

My personal measurements were a full 5mm less than the default, I think that quite a lot and it's defiantly made a difference.

ive done it twice so far. It's worth doing a couple of times and play for a bit to see if it's better for you.

Have you calibrated for the distance between your eyes? It's in settings>attached devices > psvr . Get a tape measure handy cos the 70cm distance is quite crucial

Are we perhaps talking about slightly different things? I'm yet to get it home, but from what I have read, you need to be sat exaxtly 70cm away from the camera for it to scan your face and log the distance between each of your eyes.

It's the distance from the camera I plan to measure, not the distance between my eyes. :)

Hopefully this'll help anyone confused by why there's a need to use a measuring tape to measure 70cm, in this particular thread.

Although Driveclub doesn't look the best VR game, I have to say I'm loving it! The sense of driving is so engrossing and being able to swing the car around as you can judge the track really well is great. Can't wait to see what other bits they add for the pro. I don't want to play driving games outside of VR now...I've been spoilt.

There is no going back. I've been playing Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally 2 on the Rift, and then tried playing the Forza Horizons 3 demo and it felt so FLAT. I could tell it was a good game but it just did nothing for me, nothing at all!

As briefly mentioned elsewhere, I was drawn in by the launch day reviews and ended up placing a backorder for PSVR on Amazon (I had been too skeptical to jump in at launch until I heard everyone singing it's praises). That backorder was due Nov 14th. I then lost my nerve somewhat, and had sense talked into me by some other members. I went to cancel only to discover it had unexpectedly shipped early. Oops. Got it for £291+courier/import fees, so a good price, but the guilt is real.

Received it last Friday. First experience (just looking at menus and set-up) - oh dear. Not so hot. Did the eye distance thing, and OK, now it looks clear. The lenses also had some smearing on them? A bit weird and made me wonder if I got a refurb, but the package was all sealed up nicely. No peel offs on the interior lenses mind. I wiped them down with the included cloth and the picture became excellent.

Except, first time launching Rez and I immediately see a dead/stuck pixel on the white loading screens. It's near the bottom of my vision so not hugely irritating, but it does draw attention on all white screens. I assumed it was dead, as it looks black and doesn't appear in dark displays, but looking directly at it I can actually see three coloured pixels stacked vertically - pink, blue then yellowish all together. Is this an optical trick of a dead pixel or are they in fact just stuck? I've played it a couple of hours or so in total by now and it's not going away.

The other irksome thing I discovered on my second play, is that the sound through the headphones started cutting out randomly. On the third play the picture dropped out a few times too. Sometimes when I turn on the TV and PS4, no signal is sent to the TV. I have to turn on the headset to be able to see the screen and log in. I have usually been able to fix this stuff by turning off the headset and on again, but it's a bit concerning.

I have not played anything except Rez, and I don't intend to until the guilt has worn off. But by god, Rez is heavenly. It's a pity that getting the best out of the headset requires some fiddling and so on, because if your first experience of it was Rez at peak peformance it would be world changing.

I stuck to sitting down and standard VR mode for the first couple of days, trying to ease in, but today I switched to standing and dynamic VR. It's crazy, I did feel a bit unbalanced during some of the swooping camera changes, and I somehow moved out of the visible play area (no idea how but I was no longer standing where I thought I was) but F**KING HELL!

Sadly another disappointment though, as I also discovered the PS4 won't output surround sound if the headset is turned on. So you really have to use headphones :/

As many others have said though, if they never release another game I don't think I'll regret the purchase - Rez alone is worth it. Feeling guilty, but happy. Even with the niggling issues.
