Anyone else keep the vr unit on top of the ps4? Just seen their FAQ says not to, I guess for heating issues, but I'll struggle to find anywhere else for it in my setup.

It's where mine has been since I got it. No other place it could go. Now all I have to do is check the smoke alarms on a daily basis I guess.

@parrapatheslapper I think someone said Smyths got a load in last Monday, so could well be re-supplies coming in on a weekly basis.

Use this for argos:

Looks like Hayes, Leeds and Morecombe have stock.

Someone also said their Very order is due sooner than expected, could try them.

Had my brother and dad round for PSVR larks yesterday. I put them on Shark Attack and then my daughter showed them Job Simulator and then they both had a go on DriveClub. All very suitably impressed, amazed, scared and generally astounded by the tech. :) Thought my dad was going to wrench my steering wheel off the ironing board though! Must get a proper stand for it. Tehn my brother's girlfriend had a quick go on DC, despite my protestations and my brother's encouragement, and ripped the headset off after thirty seconds...!

I can't say I blame Cex. They're paying over the odds to get stock in and the nature of their business means their stock is always depreciating against what they paid for it.

I took mine in today and got £370 for it. Not bad. My living room seems empty without it. Packing it up was ever so slightly painful, too.

Still, I've lost nothing and can always pick up another later on down the line. I'm keeping the move controllers and camera because I fully intend to.

Yesterday was great. Played Arkham VR, finished Bound in one sitting and then went through Area X once more.

Just realised the breakout box doesn't support 5.1? So even when playing PS4 normally it only puts out stereo. Or have I messed something up?

Setup is Sonos with audio being passed through HDMI to optical. Bit annoying if I have to bypass the box any time I want 5.1 on PS4.

Edit: panic over. Sound was just set to linear pcm instead of Dolby for some reason.

I couldn't resist picking up a headset when a nearby Argos had stock, but I've not opened it yet. I've pulled a muscle in my neck, so don't want to aggravate that, and I've not tried one yet so don't know if I'll get on with it.

Fortunately I got a camera with my launch PS4 and have move controllers from the PS3.

Just ordered one of these.

What are the top games to get? I haven't followed the releases too closely.

I'd say get the demo disc from the store downloaded and then go from there (it's got 18 games instead of the 8 on the demo disc in the box).

Highlights for me are Bound, Rez and Batman Arkham VR.

Ocean Descent and Scavengers Odyssey in VR Worlds are great too, but the other games in the collection are far from essential in my opinion.

Wot ya talkin' abaaaht? The Heist is essential... ;)

The thing about the four games in VR Worlds is they are all not quite complete games. It was a good idea to chuck them all onto the disc because they are great to demo the unit and get used to different ways of playing. Plus Dangerball score attack is REALLY addictive, special if you've got someone to play it against locally.

Don't forget to get VR Playroom too.

I didn't realise Dangerball was multiplayer. It's good.

And there are five games in VR Worlds. :P (though Luge is rubbish).

Regarding the Heist and Arkham VR (early spoilers):

Spoiler

It's interesting that both games use the "evil guy staring at you threatentingly" thing, but being kiddie bruce having the murderer come up to your face is way, way more effective than the guy in Heist.

Had a crack at Eve Valk in the Playstation pop up shop at Cabot Circus earlier. Apart from it looking fuzzier than Conker's arse tail, I had fun with it. And the tracking was off. I need better mates who buy this shit impulsively so I can spend more time with this beast.

Heh, forgot about Luge. Tell you what though, has anybody managed to complete Luge? It's bloody hard, proper Arcade racer checkpoint racing.

I was watching Jim Sterling's "I hate VR" video and I find it really odd how most people in games media seem totally underwhelmed with VR.

Online I haven't seen much backlash against PS VR at all. Everyone who's tried it seems to like it. I don't think there's anyone in this thread who doesn't like it.

On the recent best of Giant Bomb you've got them trying Kitchen, looking utterly underwhelmed - but they're playing it in a studio, talking to their mates without headphones on.

They all feel so jaded basically. Top tip: Change your fucking job!

Yep must admit the only gaming podcast I watch now are Easy Allies. Atleast they show some passion and enthusiasm. Although I'm way behind on their content so no actual idea what they think of PSVR.

And more years of being exposed to the seedy, shady, dirty underbelly of the games industry than most of us here combined.

I wouldn't have thought this was really the case but in one of Jon Denton's vid's he said when he started at GamesTM or something someone from another mag straight up asked him "do you hate games yet?"

Hoping someone can help me with my setup, not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there is any advice (or if this is just 'the way it is').

Essentially I have the camera on top of the TV and I stand about 2 metres away. In fast moving games such as Rez and Rush of Blood everything is fine. But anything static (particularly Batman and Job Simulator) the view is ever so slightly moving at all times even if I'm completely still, just swaying a little. It wasn't too bad most of the time in Batman and was certainly good enough for me to finish it but Job Simulator was too much movement to be comfortable so I had to quit out. Don't have anything reflective behind me, tried different lighting conditions (apart from daylight as with a 10 month old I can only get the headset out when she is in bed) but doesn't seem to help. As I have limited time I haven't seen if this is with every title, and as mentioned any in continuous movement then it'd fine or I don't notice. I have a Rift so I'm used to the view through the headset being rock steady, and I know the PSVR is supposed to have tracking that isn't quite as good so I'm trying to work out is this just the way it is, or is it down to my environment or setup?

If anyone had got any pointers then point away please!:)
