PlayStation VR

It's easy to just think Wipeout would be great in VR but they would have to make some severe changes. In that game you'd be hitting great speeds, hit something and come to a halt which would be a total no-no in VR. Maybe the 'walls' are forcefields that gradually slow you down or something.

VR has really reset the rulebook for game design which is super exciting, many fun challenges to solve ahead.

Please do tell me to F off if these vids are annoying to post in here, but I made a daft one about the top 5 scares in PSVR. You get to see my office/house utility room, get to experience me struggling with technology, and also an amusing bonus scene at the end.

That was brilliant. I found Arkham VR scary enough - not about to play any of the actual horror ones (Kitchen/Until Dawn/Here they Lie).

What was she playing at the end?  I've got a video of my wife shrieking and going "I'm not looking!" when the shark in Ocean Descent lunged at her, which is hilarious (I think that one is better played standing, btw).

CEX doing the move controllers for £40. <_<

I bought one for 8 quid from CEX two months ago. I went in a week before launch and they were 20 quid. So I thought fuck it I'll replace the batteries in my old ones for that. Once those arrive I'll take the one I bought back to them and get much more than I paid. Would have bought more when they were cheap but they didn't have any back then.

My Move hunt may just be finally over.....browsing AVForums at 1 in the mornng enabled me to grab one for £28. More than I wanted to pay but it's boxed and in great condition, plus the fact I had some money in my paypal account made it a no brainer.

Hopefully in a couple of days I can experience the games that need 2 Moves. All this talk about how great Batman VR appears to be is driving me mad.

I do love Tumble though.....some of the puzzles had me just sat there trying to work them out. Must have looked weird to anyone seeing me there. One thing that was annoying was the alert everytime the controller went out of the playfield.

Postacular....

Driveclub VR is awesome, did the Ariel Atom time trial. Blew my mind. Sat as a passenger on one of my less than hot laps, nearly blew chunks :) spinning out at 100mph as a passenger is not recommended. As a driver though I'm fine. This is the first negative VR event I've had since playing the oculus DK1 at less than 30 fps!

Anyway this is a but a blip in my experience it won't phase me. Today... I'm Batman! Visited some family yesterday to discover one of my nefews had an unused move! Pair get!

If that Wipeout VR rumour is true I'd love a flat shaded polygon filter from Wipeout 3 SE for some kind of Last Starfighter wish fulfilment.

Bound is getting bought almost for the flat shaded poly look alone.

Re: VR sickness, I guess I'm mega lucky, I haven't had any at all.  I've had that lush stomach lurch thing like going over a drop in a car but that's about it.

It does amuse me in Driveclub when you hit the breaks to do an emergency stop and your head lurches forward as you come to a standstill. Try it!

Edit: Actually, saying it hasn't affected me isn't entirely true, I have had occasions where I've felt a little spaced out after playing it. And going for a run straight after a VR session is... interesting.

If WipeoutVR is all the old tracks (or at least a good chunk of the good ones) new music, zone mode... oh god.

The idea of Zone mode is VR is just .

They'll need to get a clearer resolution going than Driveclub, though. Could be a really good outing for the Pro, this.

Well, I paid my £5 at GAME and finally had a go on the headset this morning. Played Ocean Descent.

Absolutely blew away my expectations. Didn't expect that it to be that good. Am on a high after playing that, even better than the Spidey ride in Universal.

Really really liking Scavenger's Odyssey. Almost feels like a Bungie/Halo offshoot, perhaps because of the Cortana voice in your ear.

Would love to see what the Dead Space team could do with VR.

Edit: SO finished. Really liked that. Would def play a full fat game.

I've not bought any Move controllers, and because I don't really enjoy any of the shooter games that aren't look to aim, I really don't feel like I'm missing out at all. I may just be a minority in this though.

Playing the Kitchen demo has made me genuinely excited for Resident Evil 7 though, probably the best use of it I've seen so far.

just tried the thumper & rez demos.

well fuck my hat...

i shall be grabbing those shortly!!!

thumper was just relentless, and rez made my tummy do a small turn. MY EYES :D

Thumper gets more and more draining by the level. I cleared level 6 from, start to beginning on VR yesterday and genuinely needed a break because I was just too overwhelmed by the end of the boss.

It feels like you're just in the game, then you make one mistake and it's an all out assault on your senses that's so hard to recover from when things are flying at you so fast.

It's not even comparable to the first few levels which are a relaxing journey through a digital landscape in comparison. I'm terrified what it's going to be like on levels 8 and 9. I've found myself flinching and looking away if I mess up during the really intense bits because it feels like too much going on that dominates everything you can see and hear.

I was pretty disappointed after the Game demo, after being so hyped to try this for ages.

Hope it was due to how it was setup in the shop and that I'd just come in from the cold, as I just couldn't get it to focus so was really blurry and then steaming up.

Could only try Ocean Descent, Heist and Battlezone

Ocean Descent was OK for the first 2 minutes, nearly wobbled over when I first looked down

Not sure if the Heist thing was just a tutorial or something, just a few targets popping up to shoot in a warehouse?

Hopefully will get another go when less rushed and can get it setup properly, been badgering the Mrs about getting one for couple of weeks but now not sure if it's worth it, didn't seem that much of a step up from trying Cardboard stuff in the very limited demo I had

Just found the heist shooting range demo on the demo disc download. I really like that. Definitely need move controllers now. I feel like I have real control over my shots it's very impressive.

how much of the shooting range stuff is in heists? They should break it out into its own experience really.
