Wooo, earlier than you thought? Didn't you say like December?

I'm gonna be on mine a bit this weekend.

I did try out playing PS1 games through the PS3 to the PSVR and it's pretty darn fun :D I think because of the resolution not being so great anyway it just works :)

They said December, but I'm not gonna argue!

What games you got at the moment - I'll probably pick up Rez and maybe Driveclub?

UPDATE: IT'S ARRIVED!!!!

Driveclub is a great game.

I have VR Worlds which is good for trying out the VR, different experiences etc. The Heist is pretty good :)

I have loading human but not put any time into it yet.

After payday I'm contemplating getting rigs maybe, or maybe we should all get the sports bar one and we can have a christmas party in there.... lol

Bound is really quite stunning, but I was getting massively irritated by the camera until the third level when I worked it out the best way to play.

Switched on VR alternative camera option so I could set the camera in the direction the lady is facing with up on the right stick and stood up to do loads more looking around. Works a treat that and I've found I've not been fiddling around with the other camera controls at all.

The devs are working on a camera update which will make it operate like the one in Robot Rescue (Playroom VR). Dunno whether to wait for that patch before buying the game, as I hear it's stunning in VR anyway.

@Rushy has anything been announced for Driveclub VR on the PS4 Pro... I'm so close to preordering the Pro now because of PSVR... Improved DCVR will touch me over the edge.

There will be improvements, but we haven't taken full advantage of the hardware as we're no longer working on DRIVECLUB.

i've been getting annoyed with the camera too, so will try that cheers.

robot rescue makes me a bit sick so won't be waiting for that camera. the height is the problem i'm having, the camera needs to be higher so you can see where you're supposed to be jumping, maybe that's what standing up does.

@catinthehat you learn some more moves to score points as you go through the levels in thumper (which you may have already done - in that case just ignore me), so I wouldn't bother about scores straight away.

I only had about an hour with it, so I just finished level 3 and learned the flying thump down move thing.  That seemed to give a massive score boost on Level 1, but then I screwed it all up by re-trying a couple of segments to S-rank them, which destroyed my score.  I'll be coming for you soon, though.

My girlfriend, who holds a gamepad as if its got syphilis, was given the full VR treatment.

Couldn't cope with Ocean Descent ("nope, oh fuck no, take it off!"). Played through the whole of London Heist, with the Dual Shock (and got to grips with it), spent most of it giggling or shrieking (or saying "oh fuck!"), flew about in EVE (did pretty well), watched Allumette and also did the Until Dawn demo (which caused so much screaming I'm surprised the police didn't show up). She absolutely loved it, and the effect *really* worked for her - she was dodging things, flinching, jumping, flailing and shaking for a lot of it.

I don't think this is ever going to be Wii Tennis levels of success, but it's a game changer. Especially for people who haven't kept step with console tech - what looks slightly ropy to us, is shockingly real to someone who last experienced a Nintendo 64 or exclusively plays phone games. It just needs a killer app - it needs a Wii Tennis, but I ca't think what that would be. Some sort of high fidelity driving experience maybe, open world? Dunno.

No, I don't think standing up is giving you a higher viewpoint.

EDIT -  Sorry, of course it would if you calibrate the VR and start the game sat or kneeling down and then stand up when playing. Yeah that probably helps a bit too. I'm going to have to try it now. Just got to make sure you stay in the playstation camera zone.

It's just a game where you want to be looking around the level loads and the camera is shit at that. Up and down when she's on ladders, all over the place when things are happening, but mainly just taking in the surroundings. Standing's the right way to go for this. The VR alternative camera takes away the disorientating element of the normal one because you can play it like you would a Zelda game without full camera controls. You always know where the camera is going to end up pointing when you press the stick up and it really helps with platforming. I was also rushing through the platforming and falling off loads to start with, but I think it's best to slow down a little and line yourself up with up on the right stick before jumping.

How are people finding "Here They Lie"? Worth a punt? Feel like getting absorbed in something tonight :)

I only played the demo but I liked it.

It was an amazing "VR first" for me when I got to an area and crouched down and slowly peeked found a corner :).

What do you reckon about Eve's value compared to RRP? I want it, but it's so goddamn expensive.

It's probably not worth £50, no, but there is a fair amount of content in there. The single player is anemic, but then.... I'm not sure what I'd really be expecting. You fire out of a tube and shoot some things. Or fire out of a tube and try to find some things? There could be some Wing Commander FMV interludes I guess, but it's not that necessary. The "meat" is the multiplayer. It has the usual grind to get XP, and little ship upgrades here and there, enough to keep you going. It's whether the core gameplay loop is enjoyable enough - and for me it is. While the combat can devolve into turning battles, there are times where you're scooting around the side of asteroids to avoid missile fire, or avoiding volleys of fire from a capital ship that it seems absolutely worth £50. As with anything, YMMV, but I've not regretted paying for it - as it has given me moments of absolute spaceship related exhilaration which have been my dream since zooming an X-Wing toy around my bedroom in 1984. There will be better to come. It is disgracefully priced. It is awesome.

Bought cheers guys! I played the demo and the scene near the end proper put the shits up me. I'm hoping the rest of the game has the same sort of creepiness!

It's certainly an experience. Take your time. There's plenty to explore and generally the game does a good job of funnelling you back onto the correct path to progress. In the first area especially take the time to look around and checkout the views (Up, down and across). R2 is run.

I`ll be playing through again at some point
